Saturday, March 12th, finds the Milwaukee Bucks playing the Golden State Warriors for the second and final time this season. Milwaukee won the initial match on January 13th (118-99).
The Bucks have been off since Wednesday when they beat the Hawks 124-115 while the Warriors last played Thursday defeating the Nuggets 113-102.
Last season, the teams played twice with the teams each winning on their home court. The Bucks hold the all-time record having bested the Warriors in 85 of their 141 matches
Milwaukee Bucks
In the victory versus the Hawks, Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way with 43 points, 12 rebounds, five rebounds, and one steal. Bobby Portis also registered a double-double of 23 points and 15 rebounds.
Khris Middleton scored 23 while Jrue Holiday and Grayson Allen each offered 11 points as the other double-digit contributors.
With the Wolves losing on Friday, the Bucks now possess the longest active win streak with six wins in a row. Within that sextet were impressive victories versus the Suns, Bulls, and Heat.
Additionally, with the 76ers losing to the Nets the Bucks moved into sole possession of the second seed 2.5 games back of the Heat but a full game up on Philly and 1.5 up on the Bulls.
George Hill (neck) was downgraded to out on Saturday. Pat Connaughton (finger) and Brook Lopez (back) are out indefinitely.
Golden State Warriors
The Warriors were in a rut losing nine of 11 games but tweaked a few things and looked much stronger in their back-to-back wins versus the Clippers and Nuggets.
The big news out of the Bay is Draymond Green is expected back next week on the 14th coinciding with Stephen Curry’s 34th birthday.
In addition, James Wiseman played with the Santa Cruz Warriors on Thursday registering 18 points and 6 rebounds in just shy of 21 minutes of action and was a plus-nine. He’s set to play again Sunday and then the team will likely ease him into the varsity rotation.
Having another big available will be something Steve Kerr welcomes and while only a sophomore they don’t need him to play extended minutes but simply offer another lengthy frontcourt player, particularly in matchups against the Nuggets (Jokic) or Jazz (Gobert).
Gary Payton II (knee), Andre Iguodala (back), and Otto Porter Jr. (illness) were downgraded to out on Saturday versus the Bucks. Draymond Green (back) and James Wiseman (knee) are out indefinitely.

Free Milwaukee Bucks vs. Golden State Warriors NBA Prediction:
This could be a preview of the NBA Finals but unfortunately, it’s occurring a few days sooner than Draymond Green’s projected return (March 14th).
His presence would make a big difference in how the Dubs play particularly by having someone who could draw the main defensive assignment on Giannis.
The Bucks have dramatically improved their defense of the perimeter versus the title season but still, it’s one of their areas of defensive weakness (14th). If the Dubs get hot from outside it will open up the paint which is Milwaukee’s defensive strength (rank 4th).
Conversely, the Warriors will need to crash the glass with the Bucks excelling in that area (2nd) and tend to use defensive rebounds to fuel getting out quickly in transition. Surprisingly, the Warriors rank eighth in total rebounds despite their lack of size.
Jordan Poole will be the x-factor in this match. I’m taking the Bucks to cover but if Poole has a strong night the Dubs could steal this one.
