Milwaukee has three fewer losses than Toronto and six fewer than both Philly and Boston in the Eastern Conference. We’re just approaching two-thirds of the way through the season but the Bucks are going to be hard to catch; and if they have home court advantage in the playoffs, they’ll be hard to beat.
No wonder there’s chatter about Milwaukee making a play for Anthony Davis, who would form the most freaky duo in NBA history with Giannis Antetokounmpo. I’m just not sure the Bucks have the assets to pull it off.
Bucks fans shouldn’t cry about it. Their team has won nine out of its last ten and have won three in a row on the current road trip, which will end with this one. The Bucks have taken down Detroit, Toronto and Washington after starting things with a tight loss in OKC.
Milwaukee did it in Washington without Eric Bledsoe, who sat out to rest a sore heel. He is considered questionable for this game in Brooklyn.
The bench has been steady these last several weeks with Pat Connaughton, George Hill, Sterling Brown and DJ Wilson just playing fantastic basketball together. Wilson has been, frankly, one of the best three-point shooters in the league at over 45 percent.
At 28–26, your Brooklyn Nets are two games off the lead for the best fourth-place team in the NBA. Utah has 30 wins and 24 losses and sits in fourth place in the competitive Northwest Division.
The Nets have lost two in a row and three out of four since Spencer Dinwiddie went down. Now, all three of those losses were on the road (@BOS, @SAS, @ORL) and all three were competitive but it’s not a total coincidence Brooklyn has started losing close games with Dinwiddie out.
He’ll hopefully only miss another four or five weeks of game time with the All-Star Break coming up. D’Angelo Russell has obviously stepped up, not just once Dinwiddie went out, but long before then.
Shabazz Napier has been the guy to pick up the slack left by Dinwiddie’s absence. He’s scored 92 points in his last five games and dropped a season-high seven dimes in the loss in San Antonio.
The loss in Orlando was the first time in nearly two months Brooklyn lost two in a row. It’s been nearly three since it lost three in a row.

Free Milwaukee Bucks vs. Brooklyn Nets NBA Prediction: Bucks by a hair.
I hope the Nets don’t get frustrated. They were unfortunate to run into a tough stretch on their schedule right after Dinwiddie went down. This is still a quality team and should finish strong in the East but I like the Bucks to win a close game. A Napier layup at the buzzer cuts the final deficit to three.
