Sunday, April 10th the Miami Heat and the Orlando Magic meet for the fourth and final time this season. Miami is seeking the regular-season series sweep having won the three prior contests on October 25th (107-90), December 17th (115-105), and December 26th (93-83).
Miami last played on Friday beating the Hawks 113-109 and are on a current six-game winning streak while the Magic got pummelled 101-128 by the Hornets on Thursday.
These Florida teams represent the two ends of the league’s spectrum with the Heat securing the top seed in the Eastern Conference while the Magic are the 15th team and one of the three teams with the best opportunity to win the top draft pick in the NBA lottery.
Last season the Southeast Division rivals played three times with the Heat winning two of the three contests. The Heat holds the edge in the all-time record with 73 wins in 129 matches versus the Magic.
Miami Heat
The sideline fracas that went viral with Jimmy Butler seemingly waging a battle versus Udonis Haslem and Erik Spoelstra turned out to not have a negative impact on the club.
In fact, it might have served the opposite purpose as it got the Heat back to doing the little things that had caused them to lose four-games in a row for the first time all season.
Since that blow-up, the Heat haven’t lost and once more look like the club most pegged as dangerous postseason contenders.
What preseason experts didn’t expect was the Heat to be the top seed in the East which is precisely what they’ve done. That success may result in a less than compelling opponent.
However, with the Nets moving into seventh and one win away from securing that berth they are more likely to get the seventh seed and face one of the Bucks or Celtics in the first round.
Miami is more likely to face one of the Hawks, Hornets, or Cavaliers with Atlanta looking like the best bet of that trio to land in the eighth seed.
Markieff Morris (hip), Dewayne Dedmon (ankle), Omer Yurtseven (illness), Gabe Vincent (toe), and Haywood Highsmith (hip) are all questionable while Jimmy Butler (toe) and PJ Tucker (calf) are out Sunday.
Orlando Magic
The Magic spent the season developing their young talent and tanking towards a top draft pick.
While they achieved their goal of landing one of the best three odds of winning the top draft pick it took some creativity from first-year head coach Jamahl Mosley down the stretch.
In more than a few games he had to sit his starters to close out games they were in jeopardy of losing. Oddly, with no risk of losing that bottom three seed, the Magic have elected to sit many of their core in this final game.
Particularly strange, given the match is on their home court. That lengthy list is as follows…
Gary Harris (personal) is probable, Mo Bamba (ankle) is questionable while Wendell Carter Jr. (wrist), Cole Anthony (toe), Franz Wagner (ankle), and Jalen Suggs (ankle) are out Sunday.
Jonathan Isaac (knee), and Bol Bol (foot) are out indefinitely.

Free Miami Heat vs. Orlando Magic NBA Prediction:
With much of the core and youthful talent out for the Magic and despite Jimmy Butler not playing this should still be an easy victory for the Heat who’ll simply be looking to maintain a rhythm and get everyone out of this match healthy to begin postseason preparations.
