On Tuesday, April 5th, the Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz will meet for the third and final time this season. Memphis is looking for the season sweep of the Jazz having won November 22nd (119-118) and January 28th (119-109).
Memphis has been off since Friday when they beat the Suns 122-114 while the Jazz lost 107-111 to the Warriors.
Last season the clubs played three times with Utah sweeping the regular-season series. The Jazz holds the all-time record with 62 wins in 97 matches versus the Grizzlies.

Regardless of who suits up for the Grizzlies, they continue to win. The win percentage without Ja Morant is beyond impressive but the recent win versus the Suns punctuates how underestimated the Grizzlies’ depth is.
In addition to Morant, starters Steven Adams, Jaren Jackson Jr., Desmond Bane, and backup point guard Tyus Jones were out and they STILL beat the A team Suns with Chris Paul, Devin Booker, DeAndre Ayton, and Mikal Bridges playing!
Seven players scored in double-figures with Dillon Brooks leading the way scoring 30 points along with four rebounds, and seven assists.
Ziaire Wiliams (19), De’Anthony Melton (17), John Konchar (14), Xavier Tillman (13), Santi Aldama (12), and Brandon Clarke (11) were the others who scored in double-digits.
Memphis enters the final week of play with four games remaining with road games versus Utah and Denver and finishes the season with two matches at home versus the Pelicans and Celtics.
The team is firmly in second and while they could continue to rest players this week it’s more likely Taylor Jenkins may stagger who sits in order to maintain the club’s rhythm.
To wit, Steven Adams (calf), Jaren Jackson Jr. (thigh), Desmond Bane (ankle), and Tyus Jones (hand) are probable, Dillon Brooks (hip) is doubtful and Tyrell Terry (foot) and Killian Tillie (knee) are out. Ja Morant (knee) is out indefinitely.
Utah Jazz
Losers of six out of the last seven games the Jazz certainly aren’t entering the playoffs with the type of momentum they desire. Their defense has fallen off a cliff highlighted by choking away a 25 point lead to the Clippers and 21 point lead to the Warriors.
While Donovan Mitchell brilliantly leads the top-ranked offense in the association although even that side of the court has slipped to 10th post All-Star break.
Rudy Gobert is a defensive stalwart but one player can only cover up so much and the Warriors provided a template in their win of how to break down the Jazz.
Mitchell also tends to rely on isolation-specific offensive sets in the fourth quarter and clutch time. Both the Clippers and Dubs exposed how to attack him and the Jazz in those situations and over a seven-game series game plans will only get more intense.
Trent Forrest (concussion) is questionable for Tuesday. Udoka Azubuike (ankle) is lost for the season.
