Zaire Williams also remains out for at least another month.
Despite the injuries, Memphis enters this game scoring 118.1 points per contest, which is good enough for fourth across the NBA.
When looking at advanced stats, the Grizzlies clock in at 10th in terms of Offensive Efficiency, scoring 111.7 points per game as of this writing late Thursday night.
Defensively, the Grizzlies are on the opposite end of the spectrum. On the year, the team is giving up 121.4 points per game, which has equated to 116.3 points per 100 possessions—No. 27 in the NBA.
Portland Trail Blazers
This is a weird game for the Trail Blazers. Not only has it not played since last Friday (without having to do any travel, by the way), but it’s going to be one of the rare national TV games where Anfernee Simons will be the Blazers’ first option.
Shaedon Sharpre is also getting his first career NBA start—a player getting a lot of attention in highlight streams just a few games into his inaugural season.
Damian Lillard is out, and Gary Payton II remains out as well. But the Blazers have a lot of momentum and an apparent chip on their shoulders after last year’s shakeup.
This team looks motivated early in the year and is one of the fun surprises across the league so far ranking sixth and seventh in Offensive and Defensive Efficiency, respectively.

Blazers win at home. It’s not a big win, but it would be a massive victory for the national perception in their first national TV game of the year.
