Game 3 between the second seed Memphis Grizzlies and seventh seed Minnesota Timberwolves is set for tip-off on Thursday, April 21st, 2021. Each squad has a victory with the Wolves winning Game 1 (130-117) while the Grizzlies took Game 2 (124-96).
The teams split their four games this season with Memphis winning on November 8th (125-118) in overtime and January 13th (116-108) while Minnesota won the November 20th (138-95) and February 24th (119-114) matches.

Ja Morant was one rebound shy of registering a triple-double with 23 points, 10 assists, and nine rebounds.
Seven Grizzlies scored in double-digits with many of the younger Grizzlies in the mix including Desmond Bane (16), Xavier Tillman Sr. (13), Brandon Clarke (13), Ziaire Williams (13), and Tyus Jones (10).
Jaren Jackson Jr. bounced back from getting caught in early foul trouble, but in Game 2 he managed the game and his zealous nature better contributing 16 points and seven rebounds.
Killian Tillie (back) and Santi Aldama (knee) are both out Thursday versus the Wolves.
Minnesota Timberwolves
As predicted the Wolves bought into their own hype and just expected the second game would come easy to them. It’s been their downfall as they learn to find the balance between confidence and arrogance.
Anthony Edwards followed up a huge 36-point effort with 20 points on 7 of 16 shooting plus six rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
Star Karl-Anthony Towns collected 15 points and 11 rebounds and while it was his second consecutive double-double diving into the semantics and seeing he attempted only seven shots screams of the need for him to be far more aggressive.
No one on the Grizzlies could stop him in Game 1, so his answer in Game 2 is to take seven shots.
The trio of Naz Reid (12), Taurean Prince (12), and D’Angelo Russell (11) were the other double-figure contributors.

The young Wolves will be welcomed home where the Target Center has become one of the best venues to play this season. After years of no postseason experiences to enjoy Minnesota has embraced this young club and is riding the wave of success with them.
This series is likely to go at least six games and potentially the full seven matches but I’m taking the Wolves at home for the first true playoff game in Minny in years.
