In what could be a preview to the NBA Finals this season two elite teams tip off with the Los Angeles Clippers facing the Milwaukee Bucks. It’s the second time this season the teams will play with the Bucks having won the first meeting.
The big difference is two Clippers who weren’t dressed for the game in LA will be this time and they just happen to be their two superstars – Kawhi Leonard who sat for rest and Paul George who hadn’t debuted with the club yet.
Last season, the squads played twice and split the games. The Bucks hold the all-time record having bested the Clippers in 66 of their 118 matches.
Los Angeles Clippers
Paul George’s addition to the Clippers rotation has increased the clubs overall effectiveness despite the team still working out their offensive chemistry. This contest is the first of six road games featuring five Eastern teams who’ve won nine of their last 10 games.

Of the 11 games George has played, seven feature both him and Leonard with one loss. In the win over the Blazers, they were two of the five Clippers who scored in double-digits.
Leonard had a quieter game with 11 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. George scored 25 but it was Montrezl Harrell who led the team with 26 points and nine rebounds.
Patrick Patterson (19) and Patrick Beverley (11) were the other two Clippers registering double figures.
Kawhi Leonard leads the Clippers in scoring with 25.0 points per game. Lou Williams is the top assist man (6.3) and Patrick Beverley is the team leader for steals (1.5).
Montrezl Harrell leads three team categories including rebounding (8.0), field goal percent (60.1%) and blocks (1.2).
JaMychal Green missed the last game versus the Blazers due to a tailbone contusion, and it is unknown if he will line up Friday versus the Bucks.
Rodney McGruder hasn’t played the last three games after injuring his right lower leg, his injury has been updated to reflect a hamstring strain and he has no definitive return date.
Landry Shamet hasn’t played in 12 games since injuring his ankle versus Toronto with the team listing him as out indefinitely.
Milwaukee Bucks
Things got a little chippy in Detroit as Blake Griffin and his teammates tried to get under the skin of Giannis Antetokounmpo.
However, it was the Greek Freak who got the last laugh scoring 35 points with nine rebounds in under 28 minutes en route to the Bucks 13th win in a row.

Giannis was joined by a quartet of teammates who produced double-digit scoring including Khris Middleton (17), Eric Bledsoe (13), Ersan Ilyasova (10) and Robin Lopez.
Antetokounmpo leads the Bucks in scoring (31.0), rebounding and (13.2), and field goal percentage (56.5%). The other categories are led by Bledsoe (assists: 5.6), Donte DiVincenzo (steals 1.4) and Brook Lopez (blocks: 2.4).
Khris Middleton returned to the lineup after missing seven games without missing a beat. With the wing man back the Bucks have no one on the injured list.

In their last 16 games, Milwaukee is 15-1 but seven of their opponents were missing superstars or key defenders. Eight of those opponents have a 45-118 record and the one upper echelon team who played them with all key players healthy was the first meeting versus the Jazz (which they lost).
