Los Angeles Clippers
LA began its three-game East Coast road trip with a loss in Atlanta on Friday, 112–106.
Trae Young led the game with 27 points and 11 assists. Reggie Jackson and Ivica Zubac each had 24 for the Clippers.
Los Angeles actually shot better than its opponent but the Hawks grabbed nine more offensive rebounds to more than make up the difference in shooting percentages.

Nick Batum and Marcus Morris had just three rebounds each. Amir Coffey played 36 minutes and didn’t have a single one.
The 6’2″ Jackson had the second-most rebounds in the game for the Clippers with five to go along with five assists and five turnovers.
So the road trip has just started but it’s not far from over, either. This is the first of a back-to-back to finish it off.
After this one, LA will be in Cleveland on Monday.
Just like on Friday, Robert Covington will not play due to a personal issue.
Detroit Pistons
The Pistons lost in Boston on Friday night, 114–103. They did get inside the number (14) for a tenth consecutive cover.
Detroit had the lead at halftime. Boston did not pull away until the fourth quarter.
Jayson Tatum led all scorers with 31. Cade Cunningham, Jerami Grant and Marvin Bagley III combined for 67 for Detroit.
Grant and Cunningham have been doing it all season for Detroit but Bagley has come on strong during Detroit’s current streak.
Bagley came over in a trade just before the All-Star Break. Since the break, he’s averaged 16 points per game.
Head Coach Dwayne Casey inserted him into the starting lineup two games ago when Isaiah Stewart missed a game with a knee injury.
Well, Stewart isn’t quite ready to return yet but when he is, it may be off the bench.
All along, Detroit has just been cashing tickets for backers. The streak started in the game immediately before the break, when Detroit won in Boston as a double-digit dog.
It has also won straight-up as the underdog vs. Cleveland, at Charlotte, at Toronto, vs. Indiana and Atlanta.
NBA Betting Trends:
- Detroit has covered 10 in a row.
- Los Angeles has covered 9 of its last 12.
- The last seven Clippers road games have finished under the total.
- None of the Pistons’ last five home games have gone over.
Los Angeles Clippers vs. Detroit Pistons NBA Prediction:
This is a game Detroit can win.
The Pistons are no longer the doormat team they were in the first few months of the season.
Even without Stewart, who would just be another physical post player for the undersized Clippers to contend with, Detroit will give LA all it can handle in the paint.
