Saturday, December 14th finds the Los Angeles Clippers and Chicago Bulls playing for the first time this year.
The Clippers swept the two meetings last season and are on a current seven-game win streak versus Chicago. The Bulls hold the all-time record having bested the Clippers in 65 of their 118 matches.
Los Angeles Clippers
Having played four of their six games of the road trip the Clippers are 3-1 having only lost to the Bucks as they enter play this weekend. This is the longest road trip of the season although they’ll replicate it again in mid-January.

This match will be the last of the six games as the Clippers play Friday night in Minnesota. With Patrick Beverley and Lou Williams out Kawhi Leonard is playing Friday but will he sit in this game for load management?
In their last game, the Clippers beat the Raptors in what was an emotional game with Leonard receiving his championship ring and a hero’s welcome in the 6ix.
Seven Clippers scored in double-digits with Leonard fittingly leading the way with 23 points. Lou Williams (18), Mo Harkless (14), Paul George (13), Patrick Beverley (11), Patrick Patterson (11) and Montrezl Harrell (10) were the six who joined the NBA Finals MVP in his efforts.
On the season Leonard leads team scoring (24.9), Williams tops assists (6.2) and Beverley leads in steals (1.5). Montrezl Harrell is tops in the other three categories of rebounds (7.8), field goal percentage (59.1%) and blocks (1.2).
Rodney McGruder has missed seven games with a sore hamstring but is expected to return to the lineup.
Beverley got shook up by a Marc Gasol screen sustaining a concussion which will keep him out Friday and quite possibly Saturday. Lou Williams (sore calf), JaMychal Green (tailbone contusion) and Landry Shamet (ankle) are all out Friday and possibly Saturday.
Chicago Bulls
The Bulls have battled teams recently showing improvement with three wins in six outings. In the three losses, one went to overtime and the other two were lost (Warriors, Raptors) by a cumulative three points.
This means the Clippers will need to be careful of the trap game in their last game of the trip especially playing on the second night of the back to back set.

In their last outing, the Bulls beat the Hawks 136-102. Six Bulls scored in double figures with Zach LaVine lighting up the perimeter and leading the team with 35 points.
Wendell Carter Jr. delivered a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds. Lauri Markkanen (22), Coby White (19), Thaddeus Young (15) and Denzel Valentine (10) were the other double-figure contributors.
Like the Clippers the Bulls play the night prior hosting the Charlotte Hornets.
On the season the team leaders in key stat categories are LaVine for scoring (22.7), Tomas Satoransky – assists (5.2), and Kris Dunn – steals (2.0). Wendell Carter Jr. tops the rebounding (9.8), field goal percent (57.0%) and block (0.8) categories.
Six Bulls are listed as probable for Friday including Valentine (ankle), Carter Jr (abdominal, tailbone contusion and head contusion), LaVine (shoulder), Dunn (knee tendonitis), Satoransky (turf toe), and Ryan Arcidiacono (elbow).
Players definitely out with longer-term injuries are Chandler Hutchison (shoulder sprain), Otto Porter (left foot sprain) and Christiano Felicio (non-displaced fracture of the wrist trapezoid bone).
NBA Betting Trends:
- The Clippers are 8-2 in the last 10 head to head contests.
- The teams are 5-5 ATS in their last 10 games.
- Over Under is 2-8 in team’s last 10 head to head matchups.
Free Los Angeles Clippers vs. Chicago Bulls NBA Prediction:
Both clubs are nursing multiple injuries and each is playing in a back-to-back set. The difference is the players who’ll be out for the Clippers aren’t the stars (unless Kawhi sits the second game).
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: Clippers ATS
Much will depend on which players are still out Saturday and if one team can get an edge Friday in the first game of the back to back sets to rest players for Saturday. I’m hedging toward the Clippers
