On Thursday, March 24th, the Indiana Pacers and Memphis Grizzlies play the second and final time this season. The teams played recently on March 15th with the Grizzlies winning 135-102.
Both teams are playing a back-to-back set having played Wednesday with the Pacers dropping a heartbreaker 109-110 to the Kings while the Grizzlies won 132-120 versus the Nets.

Indiana Pacers
Tough loss for the Pacers and specifically for Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield who were facing the team who traded them to Indiana. Indy held the lead in clutch time but couldn’t hang on and lost by a single point to make the sting hurt worse.
Haliburton delivered a double-double of 13 points and 15 assists, plus five rebounds, three steals, and a block. Hield was the top scorer with 25 points adding seven assists and four steals.
Oshae Brissett also collected a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds while Goga Bitadze offered 20 points and nine rebounds. The reserve trio of Terry Taylor (13), Duane Washington Jr. (11), and Lance Stephenson (10) were the other double-figure contributors.
Ish Smith (illness) and Chris Duarte (toe) are questionable for Thursday. Myles Turner (foot), T.J. McConnell (wrist), and TJ Warren (foot) are all out indefinitely. Ricky Rubio (ACL) is lost for the season.
Memphis Grizzlies
For anyone who wasn’t a believer about this Grizzlies squad, the match on Wednesday may have finally driven home the point of how good they are. Missing their superstar Ja Morant, they took care of the Nets who had both their superstars active.
If you watched the game – it was a comedy of errors in the third quarter when the refs tried to help the Nets get back in the match repeatedly assessing fouls on Memphis but letting Brooklyn foul freely.
There was a segment in the fourth two minutes in where the officials called every little ticky-tack foul – it felt very much like the refs getting their shine in the national game – – ie “look at me”.
It’s been an ongoing issue this season but if you watched any of the March Madness officiating this is minor in comparison. The 16 point deficit was erased and Brooklyn took a one-point lead into the final frame.
Memphis pulled away winning the fourth quarter 29-16 and the game. De’Anthony Melton and Desmond Banes each scored 23 points. Tyus Jones (16 points,10 assists) and Brandon Clarke (14 points, 10 rebounds )each delivered double-doubles.
Dillon Brooks scored 20 while Jaren Jackson Jr. offered 13 points, five rebounds, and four blocks.
Ja Morant was downgraded to out Thursday while Killian Tillie (knee) is questionable.
