Sunday night NBA action will see the Indiana Pacers take on the Denver Nuggets. Denver won the first meeting with the Pacers 124-116. That game took place just over two weeks ago at the beginning of January.
Indiana Pacers
The Pacers are red hot right now, having won four games in a row. As it stands, they are the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference. The good news is Victor Oladipo is close to returning and the Pacers have still played great without him. When he finally does return at the end of the month, it will only help this team moving forward.

Offensively, the Pacers are not the greatest, averaging just 109.4 points per game. This is only the 19th ranked scoring offense in the NBA. They do however, shoot 47.2% from the field, the 3rd highest shooting percentage in the league. Also, they shoot 36.7% from the three-point line, which ranks 6th in the league. If you want to go a step further, they shoot 79.5% from the free throw line, the 8th best mark in the NBA.
This Pacers squad is led by TJ Warren in scoring. He is averaging 18.1 points per game, and just scored 28 the other night against Minnesota. Domantas Sabonis is second on the team in scoring, averaging 17.8 points per game. He also leads the team in rebounds, averaging 12.9 per game.
One other notable scorer is Malcolm Brogdon. He averages 17.7 points per game and leads the team in assists with 7.5 per game.
So combined, these three guys score an average of 53.6 or 48.9% of their points. The Pacers do also have three other guys who average double-figures, so they are a well balanced team.
Defensively, is where the Pacers look to dominate every night. They are the 7th best scoring defense, allowing 106.3 points per game. Teams shoot just 44.4% from the field against them and 34.1% from long range. Both of these rank inside the top 10.
Denver Nuggets
The Nuggets inched out a win over the lowly Golden State Warriors last time out to extend their winning streak to three games. It was not pretty though, as they had to go overtime to get the job done and saw a final score of 134-131.
Denver is not a team that will generally bust out 120+, as they average only 109.5 points per game. This is only the 18th ranked scoring offense in the league. They do not even shoot the ball that great, just 46.2% from the field and 35% from behind the arc.
Clearly Nikola Jokic has been this teams leading scorer, as he pours in 19.1 points per game. He also leads the team in assists per game and rebounds per game. One guy who has really stepped up is Will Barton. He averages 15.1 points per game this season, but just had 31 against the Warriors. Michael Porter Jr has also stepped up recently an although his average is low, he scored 18 against Golden State.
Jamal Murray is the Nuggets most notable injury. He is suffering from a left ankle sprain and is out for this Sunday game.
Defense is usually what Denver excels at, yet they just allowed the Warriors to score 131. They normally allow 105.5 points per game, ranking as the 5th best scoring defense in the league. Teams are shooting 45.3% against them from the field and 33% from the three-point line.
NBA Betting Trends:

- Underdog is 15-5-1 ATS in the last 21 meetings.
- Over is 9-3 in IND last 12 overall.
- DEN are 2-5-2 ATS in their last 9 home games.
Free Indiana Pacers vs. Denver Nuggets NBA Prediction:
I believe the Pacers are playing better basketball right now and they will find a win on the road in Denver.
Despite these teams being known for great defense, they both have slipped up recently and I believe with a relatively low total, that we will get plenty of points. That being said, I like the over to be the play in this game.
