Free Houston Rockets vs. Los Angeles Lakers NBA Prediction:
Thursday, February 6th, the Houston Rockets will meet up with the Los Angeles Lakers. This is the second meeting between the clubs this season with the Lakers having won the January 18th contest 124-115.
Last season, the teams played four times with the Rockets taking three of the four games. The Lakers hold the all-time record having bested the Rockets in 138 of their 221 matches
Houston Rockets
James Harden has seemingly rediscovered his mojo after arguably his worst shooting stretch as a professional. From mid-January through to the 29th the guard had six games where he shot 32.4 percent and 15.4 percent from the field and perimeter respectively.
That changed with his games against the Mavericks, Pelicans and Hornets where he averaged 33.7 points on 44 percent and 42.5 percent from the field and perimeter.

The success started at the Rockets moved to small ball and apparently they’ll be a lot more of it in the future as GM Daryl Morey traded big men Clint Capela and Nene in a huge four-team trade on Tuesday.
They’ll get a major dose of reality of how small ball works versus big clubs in this one as the Lakers will tower over the Rockets.
That leaves 6’5″ PJ Tucker and youngster, Isaiah Hartenstein, as the Rockets only bigs.
In the win over the Hornets, they played only eight players and six of them reached double digits. Harden led the way with one rebound shy of a triple-double (40 points, 12 assists, nine rebounds).
Danuel House (22), Eric Gordon (16) Ben McLemore (14), PJ Tucker (13) and Austin Rivers (11) provided double-figure efforts.
Harden leads the team in scoring (35.8) and assists (1.7) while Westbrook is tops for assists (7.4). With Clint Capela’s trade, the new leader for rebounding (8.0) and shockingly field goal percent (45.4%) is Westbrook while Harden takes over the blocks category (1.0).
Westbrook missed the last game with a thumb sprain and his presence for Thursday is questionable.
In addition, the trade has yet to be finalized but if it goes through Clint Capela who was already out for a heel injury will be gone as will other players (who also were on injury list) Gerald Green and Nene Hilario.
The other factor will be Robert Covington who would potentially be in the lineup if the trade goes through.
Los Angeles Lakers
As trade deadline hits the Lakers have actively trying to move Alex Caruso in order to clear up space and salary in their efforts to land Andre Iguodala but as of this posting it looked more like the Miami Heat were going to get Iggy than the Lakers.
In the last match, the Lakers delivered an easy 129-102 win over the Spurs with their stars shining. LeBron James led the way with 36 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds. Anthony Davis delivered 18 points and six rebounds.
Doubles-doubles by Kyle Kuzma (18 points and 12 rebounds) and Dwight Howard (12 points and 10 rebounds) complemented the stars efforts while JaVale McGee chipped in with 14 points.
On the season Davis leads five key categories including points (26.4), rebounds (9.1), field goal percent (51.2%), blocks (2.4) and steals (1.5) while James is tops in assists (10.7).
DeMarcus Cousins is rehabbing from his ACL tear and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.
NBA Betting Trends:
- The Rockets are 7-3 ATS in their last 10
- The Lakers are 6-4 in last 10 head to head
- Over Under is 7-3in team’s last 10 head to head matchups
