Golden State won Game 2 via an offensive outburst of 127-100 and a perimeter shooting display as Stephen Curry played more of a distributor role and Anthony Davis failed to replicate his dominant Game 1 performance.

As this series hits Game 3, I’ll acknowledge the Lakers are a tougher matchup for the Warriors than I initially expected. My uncertainty had nothing to do with LeBron James who continues to consistently produce.
Rather it was the uncertainty of Anthony Davis with Game 1 and 2 offering the evidence for my lack of trust. AD was masterful in Game 1 (the best player on the court) collecting 30 points, 23 rebounds, and 5 blocks while getting to the line eight times.
In contrast, his Game 2 output was 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks with ONE free throw. Post-game he said he ‘had the same shots they just didn’t go in’ fell flat because it’s obvious he wasn’t as invested in the second match.
Stats
On the negative side, LA allows opponents to score an average of 116.6 points per game ranking 20th. Their opponents shoot 46.9% from the field and 34.4% from behind the arc ranking 10th and second respectively.
Another key point is the Lakers score 117.2 points per game which rank sixth-best while shooting 48.2 percent from the field and 34.6 percent from the perimeter ranking 10th and 25th respectively.

For the Warriors, will Kerr continue to ride with (JaMychal) Green in the starting rotation and what adjustments will he make to free up more Curry shots?
Since LA got the split, and with two examples to review I’m thinking this series is more likely to go the distance. With that and given Davis’ propensity, to have stronger performances in odd-numbered games I’ll take the Lakers to cover.
