The Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers are at opposite ends of the Western ladder as the Dubs deal with multiple star injuries while the Lakers two superstars and supplementary talent have vaulted them to sit atop the Western Conference ladder. The Lakers will arrive on the second night of a back-to-back set.
Last season, the teams met four times in the regular schedule with the Warriors taking three. The Lakers hold the all-time record having bested the Warriors in 252 of their 420 matches.
Golden State Warriors
Draymond Green returned to the lineup only to exit 22 minutes later picking up two technical fouls in the loss to the Utah Jazz. Not exactly the type of leadership the Warriors will want him teaching the young roster.

D’Angelo Russell led the way with 33 points and eight assists. It was Russell’s fourth consecutive game scoring 30 or more points. Three other Warriors produced double-figure scoring efforts including rookie Jordan Poole (11), Marquese Chriss (11) and Alec Burks (10).
The list of injuries reads like a potential starting lineup for most teams. Stephen Curry is out at least three months following surgery to repair a hand fracture. Klay Thompson is likely out for the season rehabbing from a torn ACL.
Kevon Looney remains out with neuropathy with a possible return date of month-end. Damion Lee also has a hand fracture which will keep him out until early December. Alen Smailagic is out indefinitely with a sprained ankle. Likewise, Jacob Evans won’t return until end of November due to a left adductor strain.
The only member of the roster who may play in this match (but is doubtful) is Omari Spellman who is suffering from an ankle sprain.
Los Angeles Lakers
Although the Lakers sit atop the West’s leaderboard and boast the league’s top-ranked defense they learned Sunday precisely where their Achilles heel is.

That the lesson was served by an undermanned unit made it all the more relevant. Toronto was without two of their core as Kyle Lowry (thumb fracture) and Serge Ibaka (severe ankle sprain) sat out.
Despite Pascal Siakam having an off shooting night, the Raptors exposed the Lakers and erased an eight-point half time lead completely outplaying LA in the second half.
Pace and poor transition defense had much to do with the Lakers’ loss as they surrendered 32 fast break points to Toronto versus their eight. The Lakers won the reserve scoring battle 45-43 but the Raptors kept pace with four players who’ve barely stepped on the court this season.
LeBron James registered a triple-double of 13 points, 15 assists, and 13 rebounds but was 1 of 10 in the second half with two of his shots blocked.
Anthony Davis added 27 points and eight rebounds. His defense on Siakam was stellar holding the star scoreless (0 of 7) but being saddled with that defensive assignment wore him out.
By the final frame, his legs were gone with him shooting 1 of 4, and another shot was blocked. In contrast, Siakam got stronger as the game progressed.
Davis also suffered a slight shoulder injury but is expected to play in the back-to-back and Rajon Rondo is expected to return versus the Suns. Troy Daniels (knee) is out Tuesday and presumably Wednesday.

Free Golden State Warriors vs. Los Angeles Lakers NBA Prediction:
The Lakers are perfectly suited for the postseason but the loss to the Raptors highlighted how important it will be for the supplementary players to help James and Davis who can’t be tasked to constantly carry the load.
If not they’ll be fatigued in the spring or not have the same zip to finish games. That said, Toronto is a better team than most have given credit and on most nights the Lakers won’t have to worry about overtaxing AD and James. This match falls in the latter category.
