Warriors vs. Clippers Gameday
Wednesday serves up the second day of the NBA Play-In Tournament as the tenth-seeded Golden State Warriors take on the ninth-seeded LA Clippers. The winner of this match will move on to play the Phoenix Suns in a match to determine who’ll draw the OKC Thunder in round one. The loser will be eliminated and head out on vacation.
Both squads last played on Sunday. Golden State lost 110-115 to the LA Clippers in what wasn’t a true depiction of this game, given that some players rested and there were minute restrictions on others. Four Warriors scored in double figures, led by Stephen Curry with 24 points, six rebounds, and connecting on four of his nine triples.
Six Clippers scored in double digits, led by reserve Bennedict Mathurin with 20 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. Kawhi Leonard was sat for rest.

Golden State Warriors vs. LA Clippers Odds & Last 5
Head-to-head this season, the Clippers dominated, taking three of the four matches, and have won ten of the last 11 meetings between the clubs.
The squads have met twice in the postseason, with each team winning a series. Golden State won the most recent series in 2019 (4-2).
Golden State dealt with the loss of Jimmy Butler for the season and Steph Curry out for a large portion of the second half due to runner’s knee. They finished the season with a record of 37-45 and struggled, going 1-7 through their last eight matches.
LA bounced back from a poor start to the season and was much more competitive in the second half, but was too far behind its opponents to move up the ladder. They finished with a 42-40 record and were 8-4 through the last 12 matches.
LA is favored by a 5.5 point spread with an over/under of 221.5 points.

Golden State Warriors vs. LA Clippers bottom line:
It’s win or go fishing for these clubs as they attempt to stay alive in the hopes of playing another game and moving on to face the OKC Thunder.
Not exactly an ideal opponent, but both teams feature older rosters and stars who’ve won the chip and want another shot at it.

Warriors Clippers Free Pick: Warriors +5.5
Here is my Warriors Clippers free pick.
Both teams are on the smallish side with Brook Lopez and Kristaps Porzingis providing most of the size for their respective squads.
Neither team moves the ball much either, although the Clippers have improved greatly since Darius Garland joined the club.
Kawhi has played well enough to be All-NBA and he’ll be motivated to capture the win so he can get his club a shot at moving forward into the postseason.
Per NBA.com: With Curry on the court, the Warriors have a 119.3 offensive rating and are 8.6 points per 100 possessions better than when he’s off the court (110.7 OFFRTG). For context, their offensive rating with Curry slightly exceeds the Clippers’ offense with Leonard (118.6 OFFRTG) but Los Angeles has faired better than Golden State when their All-Star is off the court (113.6 OFFRTG).
Although, I won’t be suprised if Curry goes on a heater he’s going to be limited in his minutes and the big question is who else can step up to help him score.
He’s no dream to guard, but then again Kawhi Leonard is equally difficult to stop and looks like the player who won a championship in Toronto.
Ultimately, I trust the depth of the Clippers more and since the Warriors are a smaller club they won’t have as much to worry about in the paint or on the glass.
Still, I won’t discount what’s been happening so far in the play-ins so take the points but the Clippers to win.

NBA Betting Tweet Of The Day
Kawhi Leonard on facing Steph Curry in the Play-In Tournament:
“He’s one of the greatest players to play this game… Even if it’s just a pickup game, just being able to share the floor with a player like that — being coached by Steve Kerr, also playing with Draymond, that unit… pic.twitter.com/H1tUbeqF3x
