Golden State Warriors
Saturday was the first time Golden State was getting more than three points in a playoff games since it played Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder back in 2016. The Warriors won as 3.5-point ‘dogs in Game 6 of that series and sent Saturday’s game to overtime, where Houston managed to get a nifty cover.
Kevin Durant scored forty-six in the game but missed a potential game-winner in regulation. James Harden hit the dagger three in overtime as part of his forty-one.

The Warriors got a triple-double from Draymond Green but just seventeen from Stephen Curry and sixteen from Klay Thompson, who are both clearly hobbled. Curry missed two open layups in overtime and he doesn’t look like his typically joyous self.

As a result, Golden State is keying in more on Durant and even Andre Iguodala, who stepped up to score nineteen in the loss.
Steve Kerr didn’t get much from the bench, in no small part because he doesn’t seem to trust it much. While every starter played at least forty minutes in the overtime game, Kevon Looney led all bench players with thirteen minutes.
The vibe is certainly different from teams of years past, where the Warriors won with superstar talent, along with “Strength in Numbers.”
Houston Rockets
Even so, Houston barely escaped a 3–0 hole but the Rockets have to be feeling good about the way this series has gone thus far.
Every game has been close and the Warriors are clearly hobbled, as little as they are talking about it publicly and is being reported. Curry and Thompson are not ok and the bench just hasn’t been productive. Andrew Bogut played just three minutes in Game 3.

Eric Gordon has also been the second-best guard in this series, outplaying both the Splash Brothers. He hit for a playoff career-high thirty on Saturday and has outscored Curry and Thompson handily in this series.
Obviously, the Rockets needed Saturday’s game but they need Monday’s, too. If Houston wins this one, things get interesting going back to California, where the Rockets hung tight in each of the first two games.
