Monday, December 2, finds the Golden State Warriors tipping off against the Atlanta Hawks. This is the first meeting between the clubs this season.
Last season, the squads played twice with Golden State winning both games and have an active nine-game win streak versus Atlanta. The Warriors hold the all-time record having bested the Hawks in 149 of their 291 matches.
Golden State Warriors
The Warriors arrive in Atlanta on a five-game road trip where they’ve already lost the initial two matches to the Heat and Magic. This week Golden State will play the East’s lower seeded Hawks, Hornets, and Bulls with an opportunity to gain some ‘W’s on the season.

In the loss to the Magic Glenn Robinson III led the team in scoring with 19 points. Eric Paschall (17), Alec Burks (15), Ky Bowman (12) and Draymond Green (11) all contributed double-figure scoring.
Willie Cauley-Stein added a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds.
On the season, Eric Paschall is the team leader in scoring with 17.0 and field goal percentage (49.6%).
Bowman tops the assist category with 2.8 which speaks to how different this squad is after the Warriors often topped the league in assists during their five-year dominance.
Cauley-Stein leads three categories including rebounds (6.6), steals (1.1) and blocks (1.1).
The list of walking wounded for the Warriors is extensive although Kevon Looney is expected to make his return for this match while Draymond Green is out for rest.
D’Angelo Russell (thumb) and Jacob Evans (groin) are out but should return this month. Stephen Curry (hand) is out until February and Klay Thompson (knee) will miss the season.
Atlanta Hawks
Having struggled to get wins the Hawks were putting up some solid efforts pushing a few of the elite teams into clutch time before succumbing. But, the loss in Houston wasn’t even close. That type of loss is so disspiriting you have to wonder what effect it will have on the young Hawks.

Atlanta has two choices — come out and play for pride or roll over and wait until John Collins and Kevin Huerter return to the lineup with the hope the club can string together some wins.
At least with an equally challenged Warriors club in town, they should be optimistic with a similar effort to what they played like versus the Raptors, Bucks, and Hawks this should be their game to win.
In the loss to the Rockets Trae Young led with 37 points while the trio of De’Andre Hunter (14), Alex Len (12) and Jabari Parker (11) were the other double-digit scorers.
On the season, Young is the team leader in points (28.4) and assists (8.4). Parker tops the team in rebounds (6.6), field goal percent (50.9) and steals (1.6).
DeAndre’ Bembry is nursing a hip contusion but is expected to play although Cam Reddish is listed as questionable due to a wrist injury.
Kevin Huerter (shoulder) remains out until late December and Collins will finish his suspension in December being eligible to return on the 23rd.
NBA Betting Trends:
- The Warriors are 9-1 in the last 10 head to head contests.

- Over Under is 5-5 in team’s last 10 head to head matchups
Free Golden State Warriors vs. Atlanta Hawks NBA Prediction:
With only Looney back off the injured list and the Hawks needing to cleanse the embarrassment of Saturday’s loss to the Rockets from their palates, I’m hedging on the Hawks to deliver the W and cover the points.
