Free Detroit Pistons vs. Oklahoma City Thunder NBA Prediction:
Friday, February 7th, the Detroit Pistons face the Oklahoma City Thunder in the club’s first meeting of the season.
Last season, the teams played twice with the Thunder taking both contests. The Thunder hold the all-time record having bested the Pistons in 16 of their 21 matches.
Detroit Pistons
For weeks the Pistons shopped Derrick Rose and Andre Drummond hoping to move them off the salary sheet and it seemed the interest in both players had dried up or the asking price was too steep.

However, in the final hour of the deadline, Drummond was traded to the Cavaliers for John Henson, Brandon Knight, and the Cavalier’s 2023 second-round pick.
Granted it’s a bit of an odd destination (as was the return) but the Pistons got some expiring assets and a pick back to presumably start the rebuild.
Detroit arrives in OKC having won their previous match versus Phoenix 116-108 losing only one quarter in what was one of their easier victories of the season.
In Andre Drummond’s final Pistons game he dropped a double-double of 31 points and 19 rebounds.
Reggie Jackson registered 25 points, nine assists, and five rebounds.
Christian Wood (21) and Langston Galloway (15) were the other double-digit contributors.
On the season Derrick Rose leads in points (18.5) and assists (5.8). Drummond led the remaining four categories including 15.8 rebounds, 53.0% field goal percentage, 2.0 steals, and 1.7 blocks.
Derrick Rose (adductor strain), Svi Mykhailiuk (hip strain), Markieff Morris (hip strain) and Khyri Thomas (foot) are all questionable for Friday’s match.
Luke Kennard (knee) and Blake Griffin (arthroscopic knee surgery) are both out.
Oklahoma City Thunder
Unlike the PIstons, the Thunder entered trade deadline day with multiple (coveted) assets and a potential deal on the table for Danilo Gallinari to the Miami Heat.
That deal never transpired (nor any) based on Gallo’s desire for a 3-year extension and Pat Riley unwilling to commit past next season given the stars who’ll be free agents in 2021.
As for the action on the court, the Thunder beat the Cavaliers Wednesday and moved into sixth in the West. Late in the match Collin Sexton scored to put the Cavaliers ahead wagging his finger in Dennis Schroder’s face.
Sexton got a valuable lesson in return as the German scored the next six points (30 in total) and got a pivotal steal to lead his Thunder to victory.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander registered a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds with Gallinari (15) and Chris Paul (12) chipping in double-figure scores.
The Rockets and Jazz sit in fourth and fifth but hold a small 1.5 game edge over the Thunder meaning home court seeding isn’t out of the question.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander tops the scoring (19.5 points) and Chris Paul is the leader in assists (6.6) and steals (1.6) categories. Rebounding is lead by Steven Adams (9.2) as is field goal percentage (59.8%) and Nerlens Noel is tops for blocks (1.5).
Andre Roberson (knee) has yet to play this season and is only Thunder player out.
