Wednesday, January 23 finds the Detroit Pistons facing the. New Orleans Pelicans as they meet for the second time in the 2018-19 regular season. Both squads played in the NBA special slate of Martin Luther King Jr. Day slate with the Pistons getting routed by the Wizards 101-87 and the short-handed Pelicans defeated the Grizzlies 105-85.

Despite missing Davis on Monday, the Pelicans pulled together to capture a much needed victory. Four players registered 20 or more points in the win.

Jrue Holiday and Nikola Mirotic scored 21 points while Julius Randle and Jahlil Okafor chipped in with 20 points.

Anthony Davis suffered an injury to his left index finger and while the team initially said he would be re-evaluated in a week or two Davis’ agent said they will seek alternative opinions on the exact nature of his injury. Subsequently, Davis will definitely miss the game on Wednesday.
