Wednesday, November 2nd, the Detroit Pistons and Milwaukee Bucks complete their baseball series two game set. The first game of the series occurred Monday and was a battle with Milwaukee prevailing 110 -108.
The teams will play twice more on January 23rd and March 27th with Detroit hosting.
All-time the Bucks have the advantage of winning 143 of 256 matches versus Detroit. Last season the Central Division rivals played four times with Milwaukee winning three of the four contests.
Detroit Pistons
A five-game losing streak was ended with the victory versus the Warriors on Sunday and the Pistons narrowly lost Monday pushing the Bucks right to the wire.
The young backcourt for the Pistons impressed despite the loss with Cade Cunningham leading the way with 27 points, six rebounds, seven assists, a steal and a block (and five turnovers).
Rookie Jaden Ivey added 19 points, seven rebounds an assist and two steals.
Those two games specifically are an encouraging sign for Detroit who hadn’t shown many signs of growth in their prior games and even seemed to have regressed defensively.
The Pistons allow 120.1 points per 100 possessions ranking 27th and opponents are shooting 48.6 percent from the field (28th) and 35.2 percent from the perimeter (19th)
Offensively, Detroit score 111.8 points per 100 possessions (22nd) while they shoot 43.4% from the field (28th) and 34.1% from the perimeter (21st).
Alec Burks (foot) and Jalen Duren (ankle) are questionable for Wednesday while Marvin Bagley III (knee) is out indefinitely.
Milwaukee Bucks
The Bucks allow the fewest opponent points (103.8) per 100 possessions and also hold opponents to the lowest field goal percentage (42.3%.) Opponents have a bit of leeway on the perimeter but the Bucks still rank top-10 with rivals shooting 32.7 percent from deep.
Offensively the Bucks are behind their typical standard scoring 112.8 points per 100 possessions (19th), while shooting 45.1% from the field (tied 23rd), and 33.5% from deep which ranks 24th.
In fairness, they’re missing Khris Middleton and Pat Connaughton both of whom will impact the offense in particular when they return. The fact the Bucks are unbeaten and they’re defense is so strong they’ll be fine until these two return and look very much like a title contender.
AJ Green (nose) and Grayson Allen (knee) are questionable for Wednesday. P. Connaughton (calf) and Khris Middleton (wrist) are projected to be out until early November. Joe Ingles (ACL) earliest return is mid-January.

Eventually the Bucks will lose and given how this season has gone it will likely be at the hands of a lower tier team. That said, it sort of feels like if the Pistons were going to win one of these two games it was going to happen on Monday.
Instead, Jrue Holiday saved the day and the Bucks will make the appropriate tweaks to make this an easier victory. That said, I’m not loving the spread so I’m taking the Pistons and the points.
