Monday, October 31st the Detroit Pistons and Milwaukee Bucks play the frontside of a baseball series with the second game on Wednesday, November 2nd. Detroit will host the other two meetings on January 23rd and March 27th.
The tip-off Monday is set for 8:00 EST from Fiserv Forum.
Detroit last played Sunday on the front side of a back-to-back set with the Pistons shocking the Warriors winning 128-114. The Bucks extended their unbeaten streak defeating the Hawks 123-115 on Saturday.
All-time the Bucks have the advantage of winning 142 of 255 matches with Detroit. Last season the Central Division rivals played four times with Milwaukee winning three of the four contests.
Detroit Pistons
This week has served up copious jaw droppers but the Pistons doling out the Warriors second consecutive loss was arguably the most surprising result of the week.

All five Pistons starters registered double-figure scoring with Saddiq Bey dropping 28 points to lead the way.
Cade Cunningham was one assist shy of a triple-double (23 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists) while Isaiah Stewart also registered a double-double (24 points, 13 rebounds).
The Pistons allow 121.6 points per 100 possessions ranking 28th and opponents are shooting 49.3 percent from the field (29th) and 36.5 percent from the perimeter (20th).
In contrast, Detroit scores 112.3 per 100 possessions (tied 22nd) while shooting 43.2 percent from the field and 34.9 percent from deep ranking 28th and 17th respectively.
Alec Burks (foot) is questionable for Monday. Jalen Duren (ankle) left the match Sunday and is also questionable for Monday. Marvin Bagley III (knee) is out until at least mid November.
Milwaukee Bucks
With five victories in the bank, the Bucks are the only unbeaten team remaining and might be looking over their shoulder given the numerous upsets that occurred in week two of NBA action.
Milwaukee hasn’t just won their matches they’ve covered the spread in each contest making them one of the most reliable covers.
The Bucks aren’t functioning at full speed on offense yet and likely won’t until Khris Middleton returns but are are scoring 113.4 points per 100 possessions (19th) with 45.4% efficiency from the field (22nd) and 34.7% from long range (tied 20th) and rank 16th offensively.
It’s the defensive end of the court where Milwaukee is imparting their will on opponents. They rank first in several categories including points per 100 possessions (103), opponent field goal percentage (41.9%), and defensive ranking.
Per their typical strategy the Bucks allow teams to fire away from deep and rank 16th allowing rivals to shoot 34.9% from deep.
P. Connaughton (calf) and Khris Middleton (wrist) are projected to be out until early November but with no definitive return date. Joe Ingles (ACL) earliest return is mid-January.
NBA Betting Trends:
- The Pistons are 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 games.
- Milwaukee are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games.
- The total has gone OVER in 10 of Detroit’s last 11 games
- The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Milwaukee’s last 5 games against Detroit.
- Detroit are 1-17 SU in their last 18 games against Milwaukee.
- Milwaukee are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against an opponent in the Eastern Conference conference.
Detroit Pistons vs. Milwaukee Bucks NBA Analysis:
Barring the Pistons catching fire from deep, the battle in the paint will dictate whether the Bucks win by single or double digits. They rank third in both total rebound and defensive rebound percentage and 10th in offensive rebound percentage.
In comparison the Pistons perform best on the offensive glass (8th) and rank 20th and 23rd for total and defensive rebound percentage.
A couple of things have me second guessing that massive spread — first Milwaukee isn’t feasting offensively yet, second the Pistons core has constancy and last season 12 of their 23 wins occurred in streaks of two or three.
I’m not suggesting the Pistons will upset the Bucks but I think they’ll keep the score closer than the 12.5 spread.
