Saturday, January 4th, the Detroit Pistons face the Golden State Warriors in the clubs first meeting of the season.
Last season, the teams played twice and split the games. The Warriors hold the all-time record having bested the Pistons in 155 of their 300 matches

Having lost three in a row and eight of their last nine games the Pistons continue a season-long six-game road trip. The initial three losses were against the Spurs, Jazz, and Clippers with the Warriors, Lakers, and Cavaliers rounding out the road trip.

In the loss to the Clippers incredibly nine different Pistons hit double-figures. Andre Drummond (10 points, 12 rebounds) and Sekou Doumbouya (10 points, 11 rebounds) both registered double-doubles.
Bruce Brown was top scorer with 15. Tony Snell, Svi Mykhailiuk, Christian Wood and Derrick Rose all scored 14. Langston Galloway (11) and Thon Maker (10) rounded out the players who scored in double-digits.
On the season Drummond is leading five team categories including points (17.6), rebounds (15.8), field goal percentage (53.7%), steals (2.0) and blocks (1.8). Bruce Brown is tops for assists with 3.7 per game.
Drummond (stomach ailment) is probable for Saturday while Bruce Brown (illness) is questionable. Blake Griffin missed the last two games with knee soreness and is unlikely to play in this match.
Markieff Morris missed the last three games with a left foot sprain and won’t play Saturday.
Luke Kennard (bilateral knee soreness) Khyri Thomas (surgery on finger) and Reggie Jackson (back) are all out.
Golden State Warriors
The roller coaster ride continues as the Golden State Warriors followed up a four-game win streak around the Christmas break with three consecutive losses in a row.
After defeating the Rockets and Suns it was thought perhaps the Warriors had turned a corner but three straight losses to the Mavericks, Spurs, and Wolves have them back in the lottery mindset.
The most recent loss to the Wolves resulted in Warriors scoring only 84 points. Glenn Robinson III led the way scoring 16 points. Eric Paschall (13), Omari Spellman (10) and Damian Lee (10) were the other double-figure contributors.
A trio of players top the team leader board with Alec Burks tops in scoring (15.6), assists (3.0) and steals (1.3). Eric Paschall tops field goal percentage (48.7%), Willie Cauley-Stein tops rebounds (6.2) and blocks (1.4).
Willie Cauley-Stein missed the past two games with an illness and is questionable for Saturday. D’Angelo Russell missed two games with a left shoulder contusion and won’t play Saturday. Kevon Looney missed the past five games with left abdominal soreness and will be out Saturday.
Stephen Curry (hand) is out until February and Klay Thompson (knee) will miss the season.
