For the first time since Game 7 of the conference semi-finals the Denver Nuggets will play the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Denver arrives on the heels of sweeping a back-to-back set that required overtime in both contests while Minnesota last played on Tuesday in a losing effort to the Mavericks.

In the season, Denver ranks 16th offensively (111.6) and 19th defensively (115.0) with a net differential of minus -3.4 ranking 18th overall.

I’m not overly concerned about the T-Wolves (yet) because they can still shut down teams when they ramp up their stellar defense.

Free NBA Prediction:
Neither Jamal Murray or Michael Porter Jr. have found their rhythm which is making life difficult for Nicola Jokic who is carrying the Nuggets on his broad shoulders. Factor in the lack of bench depth and that’s why Denver has lost two games and been in two dogfights.
I still think the Nuggets will look to shore up their bench via a trade but the biggest question is who they could shop. At least three of the core four (Jokic, Murray, Gordon) are likely untouchable so that leaves MPJ whose value isn’t at its peak with him taking so long to get rolling.
Minnesota is also struggling particularly on offense, but as I noted that’s a matter of timing and chemistry as the team adapts to the roster changes.
Denver should be amped after getting ousted by Minny last season, but unless Murray or MPJ shows up to help Joker it’ll be another loss. The oddsmakers haven’t made the spread outlandish so take the Wolves against the spread.
