Friday, November 29, finds Western Conference foes the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns facing each other for the first time this year.
Last season, the squads played four times and split the series. The Suns hold the all-time record having bested the 76ers in 85 of their 158 matches.
Dallas Mavericks
The five-game win streak of the Mavericks came to a crashing end as the Clippers beat them and also held them under 100 points which was a first for the league’s top-ranked offense.

After beasting during the win streak wunderkid Luka Doncic was made to look human and even then still scored 22 points and dished six assists.
Fortunately, the Suns rank in the middle of the pack defensively so Doncic should be able to get back on track with the type of production which has his name coming up in Most Valuable Player discussions.
Kristaps Porzingis produced a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds. And the trio of Seth Curry (13), JJ Barea (12) and Dwight Powell (10) also scored in double-figures
Porzingis is nursing a sore right knee but is expected to play.
Phoenix Suns
The Suns are in a bit of a funk having lost two in a row and gave up 116 points to the Nuggets then 140 to the Wizards and have lost five of their last six games.

Despite the oust by the Wizards eight different Suns scored in double digits. Devon Booker led the way with 27 points, eight assists, and two rebounds.
Two double-double performances were delivered via Dario Saric (17 points and 12 rebounds) and Cheick Diallo (17 points and 10 rebounds). Ricky Rubio returned to the lineup after missing three games and scored 18 points. The other four who hit double-figures were Cameron Johnson (17), Elie Okobo (13), Kelly Oubre Jr. (12) and Tyler Johnson (11).
Clearly Phoenix missed the presence of Ricky Rubio and Aron Baynes who both were critical to keeping the Suns’ offense flowing and the defense strong.
Baynes who missed the past five games with a hip flexor strain is probable to return on Friday. Deandre Ayton’s suspension continues with his eligible return date being December 16th.
Ty Jerome has missed the entirety of the season with a badly sprained ankle and won’t play versus the Mavericks.
