Sunday, November 24, finds two of the top three offenses tipping off in a battle of Texas as the Dallas Mavericks top ranked offense faces the third-ranked Houston Rockets offense in what could be a potential playoff series this spring.
Last season, the Southwest Division rivals met four times with the teams splitting the contests. The Rockets hold the all-time record having bested the Mavericks in 96 of their 179 matches.
Dallas Mavericks
Luka Doncic is putting up unheard of numbers particularly from a 20-year-old as the youngster recorded his seventh triple-double when the Mavs played the Warriors. What made the accomplishment all the more impressive is he registered the benchmark in 25 minutes.

In their last contest versus Cleveland, Doncic didn’t add to his league-leading triple-double total but he did collect a double-double of 30 points, 14 assists and also chipped in with seven rebounds.
Seven Mavericks reached double-figure scoring including Justin Jackson (19), Kristaps Porzingis (17), Tim Hardaway Jr. (16), J.J. Barea (12), Delon Wright (10) and Dorian Finney-Smith (10).
Porzingis is looking better each time out as he and Doncic figure out their chemistry and the Mavericks are working on improving their defense because Doncic’s ability makes them an almost unstoppable force on offense.
Seth Curry missed the last two games due to an illness but is expected to be available against the Rockets on Sunday.
Houston Rockets
In their last match, the Rockets played the Clippers for the second time this month with the big difference of both Paul George and Kawhi Leonard being in the lineup. Although the Rockets battled they eventually succumbed to LA losing 119-122.

In the back and forth contest the Rockets were once again led by James Harden who registered a double-double of 37 points, 12 assists, and eight rebounds. Clint Capela also netted a double-double of 17 points and 19 rebounds.
Russell Westbrook recorded 22 points, six assists and five rebounds versus his former teammate George and his Clippers squad. The other double-figure contributors were Ben McLemore and Austin Rivers who scored 14 and 10 points respectively.
Eric Gordon underwent arthroscopic right knee surgery which will keep him out of the lineup for up to six week marking a return date of late December.
Danuel House Jr. missed the last match versus the Clippers due to shoulder soreness and is questionable for this match versus the Mavericks. Gerald Green (foot) and Nene (groin) are both out for the long term.

Free Dallas Mavericks vs. Houston Rockets NBA Prediction: Odds Updated – LAC plus points
No doubt James Harden will be amped up to show Luka Doncic he is the best player in the NBA so this match has plenty of intrigue and entertainment value attached.
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: Mavericks plus points
The Rockets allow 113.7 points per contest while the Mavericks allow 109.1 points and neither squad is adept defensively.
It’s a bit of a coin toss in this one but I like the five points Dallas has to their advantage. Still, the Rockets won’t want to lose three in a row. I went back and forth on this but have the Rockets winning the game — barely.
