Sunday, November 3 finds cross conference foes the Dallas Mavericks and Cleveland Cavaliers tipping off for the first time this season.
Last season, the squads played twice with the Mavericks winning both games. The Cavaliers hold the all-time record having bested the Mavericks in 40 of their 75 matches.

Luka Doncic put on a show in Dallas with his new super partner Kristaps Porzingis in a game for the ages against the Lakers super duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Some missed calls late on a LeBron James travel and two hits to Doncic’s head seemingly shifted the outcome but it was still one of the best games this season. Doncic collected a triple-double of 31 points, 15 assists and 13 rebounds with the assist tally being a career high.
Porzingis fell one rebound short of collecting a double-double gathering 16 points and nine rebounds. Dwight Powell (14), Delon Wright (12) and Tim Hardaway Jr. (11) were the other double-digit scorers.
Doncic suffered a head laceration on one of the hits he took to the head (by Dwight Howard) receiving three stitches but is listed as probable.
Maxi Kleber played against the Lakers but is still dealing with knee soreness making his presence questionable in this match.
Ryan Broekhoff (right ankle sprain) and JJ Barea (Achilles) have each been held out for prior games and remain questionable for this match.
Cleveland Cavaliers
Although this is meant to be a rebuilding season with the focus on the young backcourt of rookie Darius Garland and sophomore Collin Sexton the Cavaliers vets are the players making noise.

Both Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson are averaging double-doubles through Cleveland’s five matches this season. Love is averaging 17.2 points and 16.8 rebounds.
Thompson has been a revelation averaging 17.6 points and 11.4 rebounds. Both points and rebounds are career-highs for Thompson.
In their last outing, Kevin Love led the way with 22 points and 17 boards, Sexton chipped in 21 points, Jordan Clarkson added 20 and Cedi Osman scored 10 points.
Matthew Dellavedova will miss the game versus the Mavericks due to personal reasons.
Ante Zizic will be out up to four weeks with plantar fasciitis in his left foot and Dylan Windler will miss up to six weeks due to a left tibial stress reaction. Both are projected to return in mid-November.
John Henson will be out until late November as he addresses a right hamstring strain.
