Boston continues to rely heavily on the perimeter, shooting (36.5) and making (15.5) the third most per game.

The glass should also play a role as the Celtics utilize rebounds to collect second-chance scoring, while the Mavericks will utilize their size to try to thwart the Beantown crew.

Jayson Tatum has earmarked Friday as his return date. Don’t expect All-Star Tatum in his first few games back. Rather, the closing stretch will allow him to shake off the rust and get back into a rhythm.  

The question isn’t whether the Celtics respond to the beatdown by Charlotte with a win. Rather, it’s whether they’ll cover the massive spread.

Odds are the Garden will be lit with excitement over Tatum, so I like that energy to carry over to the team.

Still, I abhor huge spreads, and while I think Boston will win handily, I’ll take the points and Dallas.
