Saturday, March 16 finds the Brooklyn Nets traveling to play their host the Utah Jazz. The Nets arrive having last played Thursday in a 108-96 loss to the Thunder. Utah last played on Thursday in a 120-100 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Last season the teams split their two meetings and this year the teams have met once with Utah winning that initial game. The Jazz holds the all-time record having bested the Nets in 58  of their 89 matches.

Brooklyn Nets

The Nets have one of the most difficult schedules remaining and are in a battle with the Pistons for the sixth seed. With Detroit’s win on Friday, they pushed the Nets back to seventh.

Spencer Dinwiddie led his team in scoring with 25 points in the loss to Oklahoma City. The only other two Nets who reached double-digit scoring was Joe Harris (13) and D’Angelo Russell (14).

Several Nets are dealing with injuries although many are expected to make a return Saturday.

Shabazz Napier (tightness in his right hamstring) missed the game in OKC but is expected to play.  Likewise, DeMarre Carroll hyperextended left knee kept him out in OKC yet is also expected to suit up.

Treveon Graham who missed the past five games with lower-back soreness but is also expected to suit up versus the Jazz.

The lone Nets player expected to remain out this weekend is  Allen Crabbe (knee soreness).

Utah Jazz

It’s been an emotional week for the Jazz as they dealt with the Russell Westbrook fan altercation situation and delivered lifetime bans to two of their fans.

Utah has the easiest schedule remaining which they hope to utilize to climb into a home court seed. Entering the match they are in seventh place three games behind a home court seed.

In the win over the Wolves, six players scored in double-digits with Donovan Mitchell leading the way with 24 points.

Thabo Sefolosha experienced left hamstring tightness causing him to leave the last game so his availability is uncertain for Saturday. Dante Exum (partially torn patella tendon) has no timetable for return.

Tony Bradley had minor surgery to repair his right knee and will miss an extended length of game action.
