Saturday, December 14th finds Atlantic division rivals the Brooklyn Nets facing the Toronto Raptors in their first meeting this season.
Last season, the teams played four times with the Raptors taking three of the four games in the series. The Raptors hold the all-time record having bested the Nets in 53 of their 93 matches
Brooklyn Nets
The Nets allowed Hornets sophomore Devonte’ Graham to put up 40 points on them. It was the first loss for Brooklyn in four games.

Four Nets scored in double figures with Jarrett Allen producing a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds while Spencer Dinwiddle was the top point producer with 24 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds.
Garrett Temple (11) and Theo Pinson (10) were the other double-digit producers. Kyrie Irving missed his 13th game with a shoulder impingement. Brooklyn is 9-4 record in his absence but only five of the 13 teams have a record over .500 with Brooklyn losing three of the five.
Also of note, the Nets waived guard/forward Iman Shumpert despite a desire to keep him but their hands were tied due to roster guarantees.
On the season Spencer Dinwiddie leads the team in scoring with 20.8 points and 6.2 assists while Garrett Temple is tops for steals (1.0). Jarrett Allen tops three categories including rebounds (10.5), field goal percentage (66.9%) and blocks (1.3).
In terms of injuries, Nicolas Claxton is nursing left hamstring soreness which kept him out versus Charlotte and he is questionable for Saturday. Wilson Chandler will miss one more game to finish serving his 25 game suspension which means he could suit up on Sunday against the 76ers.
In addition to Irving, Caris LeVert (thumb) and Kevin Durant (Achilles) remain out long term.
Toronto Raptors
Following a seven-game win streak, the Raptors have lost four of their last five games including their last match versus the Clippers and former teammate Kawhi Leonard.

The franchise, team, and fans were typically Canadian as they loudly welcomed Leonard back delivering one of the coolest videos and productions ever in presenting Leonard with his championship ring.
In the loss, four Raptors scored in double figures including Pascal Siakam (24) Norman Powell (22), OG Anunoby (13) and rookie Terence Davis (10).
Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka have struggled since returning and reintegrating them into the rotation has thrown off the offensive timing for the entire team.
Siakam leads the team in scoring (24.5 points) and rebounding (8.2). Fred VanVleet is the leader for assists (7.0) and steals (2.0). OG Anunoby holds the team’s best field goal percent (50.5%) and Marc Gasol is the top block man with 1.2 per game.
Fred VanVleet hurt his knee in the Rockets match and his return date remains uncertain. Patrick McCaw (knee) and Stanely Johnson (groin) won’t dress for the match.
NBA Betting Trends:
- The Raptors are 9-1 ATS in their last 10
- The Raptors are 6-4 in last 10 head to head
- Over Under is 5-5 in team’s last 10 head to head matchups
Free Brooklyn Nets vs. Toronto Raptors NBA Prediction:
The Raptors defense has remained strong during the malaise Toronto is in, but their offense has been off with the team going long segments where they aren’t scoring.
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: Raptors finally break out offensively
For six weeks the Raptors were the best 3-point shooting team in the league but have shot 27.2 percent over their last five games.
They’ll look to get back on track facing the Nets 21st ranked perimeter defense. Toronto set an NBA record the last time an Atlantic Division rival was in town with 34 consecutive wins versus their division.
