If Brooklyn is going to achieve anything this season they have to take advantage of spots like this. This needs to be a win.
New York even helps them out by playing the night before. This Knicks team needs every advantage this season and that won’t help.
Not sure there is a real rivalry yet here. This game is in a sleepy spot on a Sunday too.
Brooklyn Nets
The Nets have won back to back games after destroying Sacramento on Friday, a 19 point win. The numbers are really starting to bear out that they are better without Kyrie.
Not more talented, but more successful. Kyrie Irving is out for at least another week it seems so we can avoid that drama a little while.

This team becomes much more balanced without him, hardly a surprise. Spencer Dinwiddie is becoming very good at getting his own and feeding others.
I love the combo of Jarrett Allen and DeAndre Jordan in the middle. They don’t play together much but they compliment each other really well.
Joe Harris has quietly become one of the more reliable three point shooters in the league. He is making over 40% of his threes once again.
The Nets know who they are and are a lot better than the Knicks, that is plain to see. With no Kyrie they are just playing and that is a good thing.
New York Knicks
New York is one of the more interesting teams in the league but not necessarily in a good way. Day to day you just don’t know what you are going to get.

I think that starts with unpredictable play at the point guard position. Dennis Smith Jr. has not grabbed the position yet and is quickly pushing to draft bust status. You can see the physical tools but it is just not coming together. They need to pick a guy though and play him 38 minutes per game instead of going back and forth between him and Frank Ntilikina.
The Knicks are deep at power forward with Julius Randle and Marcus Morris. Morris has never been featured this much and is having his best season averaging 18ppg. His outside shooting has been insane at 46% from deep, a career high. Randle has been just OK but certainly not worth what he is getting paid.
New York is in a tough spot because the offensive players they want to feature, RJ Barrett and Kevin Knox are struggling. Allonzo Trier was a thing last season as a rookie but has disappeared this season. I am not sure the Knicks really have a plan right now.
