Free Brooklyn Nets vs. Miami Heat NBA Prediction:
Saturday, February 29th, the Brooklyn Nets and Miami Heat meet for the third time this season having each won once. The Heat won the initial contest on December 1st (109-106) while the Nets took the January 10th match (117-113).
Last season, the teams played four times with the teams splitting the series. The Heat holds the all-time record having bested the Nets in 73 of their 125 matches.
Brooklyn Nets
A bit of deja vu is occurring as the Brooklyn Nets seem to be channeling the Celtics of two seasons ago and performing better without Kyrie Irving. They’ve climbed all the way to seventh defensively and over the last 15 games rank 11th offensively.

Brooklyn plays the Hawks on Friday and the Heat Saturday in a back-to-back set.
Prior to their game Wednesday versus Washington the Nets boasted a 19-9 record versus non-playoff seeds. None of the club’s typical defensive effort was on hand particularly in the opening frame when Brooklyn allowed Washington to dominate 31-17.
Despite rallying to get back in the match in the third quarter (37-21) it was too little too late. In the loss, Caris LeVert continued his hot stretch with34 points, seven assists, and six rebounds.
DeAndre Jordon registered a double-double of 16 points and 16 rebounds while Spencer Dinwiddie (18) and Taurean Prince (13) were the other double-figure contributors.
Spencer Dinwiddie leads the team in scoring (20.8) and assists (6.6). Allen tops field goal percentage (64.4%) and blocks (1.4) DeAndre Jordon for rebounds (10.0) and Taurean Prince for steals (0.9).
Wilson Chandler missed the last game for personal reasons but is expected to play on Saturday.
Kyrie Irving (shoulder) and Kevin Durant (Achilles) are out for the season.
Miami Heat
Like the Nets, Miami also plays a back-to-back set facing Magic and Nets this weekend. The Heat began a five-game homestand with a loss to the Timberwolves who erased a double-figure deficit on the road to steal the victory.
It was Miami’s fourth home loss (23-4) and seventh in their last nine overall. In fact, the Heat haven’t played well since the trade deadline.
In the loss to the Wolves, Bam Adebayo delivered a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds. Kendrick Nunn topped the scoring with 24 points while Jimmy Butler produced 18 points and nine rebounds.
The trio of Goran Dragic (16), Derrick Jones Jr. (14), and Kelly Olynyk (11) were the other double-figure contributors.
The two All-Stars on the Heat lead all team categories with Butler topping scoring (20.6), assists (6.2) and steals (1.8) and Bam Adebayo tops in rebounding (10.6) blocks (1.2) and field goal percent (57.5%).
Although nursing a sore ankle Bam Adebayo is expected to play versus the Mavericks.
Tyler Herro and Meyers Leonard are both dealing with ankle injuries and have each missed the last nine games. Neither will play on Friday nor do they have a set return date.
Kyle Alexander (hyperextended right knee and a PCL sprain) are all out with no definitive return date.
