Although Indy is unbeaten at home these playoffs if their star can’t go they face an uphill battle. Punctuating that point was the Pacers were plus +1 with him on the court in Game 2, but minus -17 when he was off the floor.

During the season, Indiana possessed the second-ranked offense (120.5) however, their defense lacked something to be desired as it ranked 24th (117.6) while their net differential of plus +2.9 registered 10th overall.
To this point in the postseason the Pacers rank first offensively (121.2), and 13th defensively (118.1) with a plus +3.1 net differential ranking sixth.
The Pacers began the season strong and remained one of the better bets against the spread with a 52-43-3 record through 98 matches.

Getting a lucky break is one thing but if Haliburton can’t go the Celtics’ run to the NBA Finals will be one of the easiest rides ever considering they faced the Heat without Jimmy Butler, the Cavaliers without Jarrett Allen (and Donovan Mitchell for half the series) then this.
The question is whether Boston will rise to the challenge and go for the throat so they can gain a potential long rest while the West is projected to be a grueling six or seven game series.
It’s instances like these in the past where they’ve dropped the ball and lacked focus.
Rick Carlisle may have tipped his hand in Game 2 when he pulled his starters so early with the game still possibly in reach. That suggested he knew his point guard wouldn’t be available and wanted to give his players some extra rest.
Logically, even if Haliburton plays he won’t be 100 percent so this should be a slam dunk for the Celtics but again, they’ve played with their food so much we still can’t trust them.
With the crowd sure to be stoked I’ll take the points and call me crazy but I’ll also take the Pacers for the win given they’ll be the more desperate team (and the series will be a sweep if they don’t win).
