Atlanta Hawks vs. Orlando Magic Odds & Last 5
Last year, the teams split the four-game series, but this season the Hawks are seeking the sweep, having posted a 3-0 record in the series.
In the last 18 games, the Hawks are 16-2, and while they had beaten the lower-tier squads during the winning streak, collecting a win versus the Celtics suggests they are ready to face anyone. They sit in the fifth seed, a half game up on the Raptors, and hold a 1.5 game edge on the 76ers.
Orlando followed up its seven-game winning streak with six losses in a row and ended the losing streak versus the Kings, but then fell by 52 points to the Raptors. With that, the Magic have plummeted to eighth with a record of 40-35. They trail the 76ers by a game and hold a half game edge on the Heat.
The Hawks are the favorites by a 4.5 spread with an over/under of 232.5 points.

Atlanta Hawks vs. Orlando Magic bottom line:
With the stretch run in full motion, teams are trying to move up the ladder to obtain better positioning or for specific matchups.
The Hawks had their easier schedule segment during the winning streak, but will play the eighth-hardest closing strength-of-schedule. They have six games remaining, with four matches on the road and five versus current playoff seeds.
Orlando has the 13th-ranked remaining strength of schedule with seven games left. They’ll play four more road games and face four teams currently in playoff or play-in seeds.

Hawks Magic Free Pick: Magic +4.5
Here is my Hawks Magic free pick.
Atlanta made the best of their easy scheduling to jump up the ladder, but has their work cut out to finish the regular season.
Meanwhile, the Magic are reeling, trying to regain a semblance of the squad that looked primed to make the playoffs at season start.
The East teams currently seeded fifth through 10th are separated by three games.
Like their opponent, Orlando benefitted from an easy segment of opponents, but with the streak over, they are struggling to beat the upper echelon. With just seven games remaining, they need to get a grasp on their identity.
Making matters worse, there are loud whispers that Paolo Banchero and Coach Jamahl Mosley aren’t seeing eye to eye, and you have to wonder if we’ll get another coach firing (similar to Mike Malone in 2025) before the playoffs begin.
Both clubs will approach this match as a must-win, which favors Atlanta given how they’ve been playing, but the Magic are at home and 8-4 in second games of back-to-backs.
Since I expect a physical match with playoff intensity I’ll take the points.
