Instead, it’s Boston who is in jeopardy of being caught by the Knicks while Detroit maintains a five-game edge.
Cunningham has missed four games (if you count the 5:20 he played versus the Wizards) with the Pistons 4-0 in this period.
Atlanta is on fire, registering a 14-2 record since the break, but has predominantly faced easier squads. Similarly, the Pistons’ opponents have been primarily lower-tier teams lately.
To that end, both clubs will want to send a message via a victory, so expect a playoff-level battle. Ultimately, I went with Detroit to win and cover because I trust the Pistons’ defense more than I trust the Hawks’ offense.
