Wednesday, January 23 finds the Atlanta Hawks facing the. Chicago Bulls as they meet for the xx time in the 2018-19 regular season. Both teams last played Monday on Martin Luther King Jr. Day with the Hawks losing to the Magic 122-103, while the Bulls beat the Cavaliers 104-88.
Last season, Chicago swept the three-game series and took the initial meeting this year. The Bulls hold the all-time record having bested the Hawks 128 of their 239 matches.
Five Hawks scored in double-digits in the loss to the Magic with Dewayne Dedmon leading the way scoring 24 points. Trae Young (21), Jeremy Lin (15), John Collins (14) and DeAndre’ Bembry (11) all chipped.
Although the Hawks have delivered a few solid victories over the Heat, 76ers, and Thunder they have sandwiched them with eight losses.
It is unrealistic to expect this squad to challenge for a playoff seed. That said, John Collins and Trae Young are finding a groove playing alongside each other and if Kevin Huerter could stay healthy they could work on building chemistry to finish the season.
Kevin Huerter(sore neck) missed the last game and is questionable for Wednesday. Miles Plumlee (had a non-surgical procedure on left knee) is out until February. Kent Bazemore (sprained right ankle)is listed out until early February.
The biggest news in Chicago was they finally registered their first win of 2019 after losing 10 games in a row. The other big news was the Bulls were the team who finally picked up Carmelo Anthony from the Houston Rockets while he’s been on ice for most of this season.
What the team will do with Anthony however remains uncertain.
Five Bulls scored in double-digits in the win over the Cavaliers with Zach LaVine leading the way scoring 25 points. Bobby Portis (15), Kris Dunn (13), Lauri Markkanen (13) and Jabari Parker (10) all helped toward the win.
Carmelo Anthony was traded to the Bulls although he’ll be away from the team until the franchise determines their plans for him. Wendell Carter Jr. (surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb) is expected out for up to three months.
Denzel Valentine will miss the season after undergoing reconstructive surgery on his left ankle.

Free Atlanta Hawks vs. Chicago Bulls NBA Prediction:
The Hawks aren’t road killers (6-19) but the Bulls aren’t exactly home beaters either (5-17) which lends itself to this being more of a coin toss.
