The NBA Dunk Contest will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California this year.
The past few season, the contest has not been very entertaining. This year the NBA hopes to think otherwise. With four young competitive participants in this years contest, fans won’t be disappointed.
Donovan Mitchell 2018 NBA Slam Dunk Contest Odds +220
Donovan Mitchell is one of the most impressive young rookies in the NBA.

This will be Mitchell’s first year as a participant. Mitchell is arguably the best rookie in the NBA this year. His 19.6 points per game this year, lead the Jazz in scoring this season.
Mitchell was overlooked in the draft, and has been playing with a chip on his shoulder to start his NBA career. Mitchell was drafted 13th overall in last year’s draft.
With the way Mitchell has finished at the rim this year, it’s hard not to consider him as a top contestant in the contest. Look for Donovan to bring it at Staples Center.
Victor Oladipo 2018 NBA Slam Dunk Contest Odds +400
Victor Oladipo might be the best known star in the competition.
Oladipo was traded for Paul George in the offseason, and has played well this year.

So well, Oladipo is averaging 24.4 points per game this season, and was choose to his first All Star game.
He is also the front-runner for most improved player, and has his team in playoff contention this season.
Oladipo is considered the biggest underdog in the competition. Don’t sleep on Oladipo. He finished strong and has gifted leaping ability.
Larry Nance Jr. 2018 NBA Slam Dunk Contest Odds +700
Larry Nance Jr, is my favorite to win the contest.
Nance Jr, is the son of former dunk contest winner Larry Nance. Nance Sr. won the first ever dunk contest beating several legends. Nance Jr, does not have a complete of game as his father, but can definitely play above the rim.
Nance Jr. is already tall, but his leaping ability makes him comparable to DeAndre Jordan.
Look for Nace to get creative. He was recently traded to the Cavaliers, and could get a few pointers from his new teammate LeBron James.
Dennis Smith Jr. 2018 NBA Slam Dunk Contest Odds +700
Dennis Smith Jr. comes into the contest, as the favorite to win it this year. The rookie from North Carolina State is definitely an explosive dunker.
A lot of Smith Jr’s highlights have been huge dunks, and several have been on opponenets foreheads.
The rookie should bring flash and creativity to this years contest. His dunking talent is unquestioned as is his playing ability. He is averaging 14.8 points per game this year.

Smith Jr may be the favorite, but he must make his dunks in order to advance rounds. He he misses one or two difficult dunks, he could find himself out of the competition in the first round.
