The fact that LeBron James has gone West helps their cause as well. Home-court advantage in the first round of the 2019 NBA Playoffs is a reasonable goal for this roster as it’s currently constructed.
Milwaukee Bucks Strengths:
The Bucks’ strengths begin 100 percent with Giannis Antetokounmpo. The do-it-all forward/point-forward has become an easy top-10 player across the Association who has a legitimate case for top-five status.
If Giannis ever learns how to shoot a jumper—particularly from behind the three-point line—he’s going to be borderline unstoppable. Think Kevin Durant meets LeBron James.
Yeah. That’s a terrifying thought for the rest of the league.

Head coach should also be a strength here. Mike Budenholzer needed a divorce from the Atlanta Hawks regardless of who initiated the breakup.
With Budenholzer on board in Milwaukee, he has another opportunity to do what he did early in his days with the Hawks: develop young talent, blend it with the veterans and compete for a spot atop the Eastern Conference.
It may be two or three years before we see what this team is really capable of, but Year 1 is going to be an exciting experiment.
Milwaukee Bucks Weaknesses:
Despite the depth and potential this roster boasts, there are still a lot of questions. Jabari Parker is officially in Chicago with the Bulls, but players such as Chris Middleton, Malcom Brogdon and Thon Maker have relatively low floors to go with their high ceilings.
(That’s another reason why Year 1 under Budenholzer will be a fun experiment, and why we may not see exactly what this team is capable of for another two seasons.)

In the interest of sticking with question marks, it’s a real conundrum trying to figure out who the true second option is on this roster. Is it Eric Bledsoe? It certainly could be, but health and focus are often what we focus on with this electrifying point guard over actual production.
Could Milwaukee find a way to get Brook Lopez back to his 20-points-per-game averages? Will Brogdon, Middleton or Maker take a huge step in the right direction?
The problem with potential is that you never quite know when (or if) it’s going to come to fruition.
Milwaukee has potential…and it definitely has this problem.

Milwaukee Bucks Betting Prediction: 48-34
Entering the 2018-19 season, Milwaukee has been given an over/under wins projection of 46.5. We’re picking the over with the assumption that the Bucks will be the fourth-best team in the Eastern Conference.
Taking down the Toronto Raptors, Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics is a bit ambitious at this juncture, but home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs—a postseason tournament that Milwaukee should have no trouble qualifying for this year—is not just doable, but what the Bucks should end up with.
