Martin Truex Jr. has made an early name for himself in this year’s Chase with a victory last Sunday at Dover after winning at Chicago in the first of this 10-race playoff.
Defending 2015 Sprint Cup Champ Kyle Busch finished second at the Monster Mile and my longshot pick for last week’s race, Chase Elliott finished third.
The following is a look at my top favorite, contender and longshot to win this Saturday night’s race at Charlotte based on betting odds provided by MyBookie.
2016 NASCAR Bank Of America 500 Odds: The Favorite (odds of less than 10/1)
Martin Truex Jr. is white hot coming into the next round of this year’s Chase so it is easy to see why he has been listed as a +425 favorite to win again this Saturday night.
It is hard to bet against that logic when you consider that the No. 78 Toyota has now won three times and finished second in one other race in its last five Sprint Cup point-race events.
The biggest reason why I am going with Truex this week as my top-valued favorite was his victory earlier in the season at Charlotte in the Coca-Cola 600.
2016 NASCAR Bank Of America 500 Odds: The Contender (odds from 10/1 to 19/1)
In an effort to stretch as much value as possible from the betting odds this week, I am going with Matt Kenseth at +1050 to post his first win in this year’s Chase with a victory on Saturday night.
The No. 20 Toyota has had a solid run so far in this year’s 10-race playoff with a runner up finish at New Hampshire to Kevin Harvick two weeks ago followed by last Sunday’s solid fifth-place finish at Dover.
That was good enough to occupy the fourth spot in the Sprint Cup standings heading into the start of a new elimination round.
Kenseth has been solid at this week’s venue in recent years with a seventh-place finish or better in four of his last six runs at Charlotte.
2016 NASCAR Bank Of America 500 Odds: The Longshot (odds 20/1 or greater)
Out of the 12 drivers that are still in contention to win this season’s Sprint Cup title, Kurt Busch has the longest odds at +2600 to win this week.
That fact alone adds quite a bit of value to this number given the added incentive to win.

The No. 41 Chevrolet quietly made its way to eighth in the standings at the end of the first elimination round of this year’s Chase.
His best finish in the first three races was fifth at New Hampshire. Busch also finished fifth in this event last season and sixth in the first race at Charlotte this year.
