Toronto Blue Jays
The Jays won the series opener 1-0 in extra innings but dropped game two. They have been better than expected on the road this season thanks to a pitching staff that is over performing while they wait for their young lineup to produce. Phenom Vlad Guerrero Jr has been struggling but he picked up his first MLB RBI on Saturday night. They need more from him if they are going to stay competitive.

He has yet to get a win for the Jays but the team is 2-2 in starts by Clay Buchholz. He is still serviceable but he needs to be careful because his stuff is not overpowering. The Jays have been relying a lot on their bullpen this season and so far they have been betting good results. Toronto is third in the Majors in team ERA.
Texas Rangers
Texas is just a game under and competing in the AL West, more than most would have thought. Mostly that is thanks to the top scoring offense in the Majors. Joey Gallo has 11 homers and Elvis Andrus is off to a hot start. Gallo is still striking out more than once per game though so this team is hardly a sure thing to continue at that level. For now they can hang and punish weaker teams though.

Drew Smyly kind of epitomizes the Rangers rotation right now. They are just filling spots with veterans that are cheap and hoping for the best. That has worked with Mike Minor but Smyly does not have much to offer. Texas has not won even one of his four starts this season. His home ERA is almost 7 but that is still a lot better than on the road where it is over 10.
