The Jays were on a roll until losing on Saturday, 2-1. This weekend wraparound game is going to be tought to get a win.
Toronto Blue Jays
After winning back to back to back one run games the Jays fell in a similar manner on Saturday. They had a nice run to get over .500 but staying there is going to be tough.
With Teoscar Hernandez leading the way the Jays have are a surprising fifth in homers. They are still waiting on Vlad Guerrero Jr. to hit and hit for power. Right now Cavan Biggio is ahead of him in all categories. He is a perfect 18 or 18 in stolen bases in his young career.
It is hard to know who the Jays will tap for this start. Tanner Roark seems like a possibility, he is usually competitive but not in the same league as Snell.
Tampa Bay Rays
Heading into Saturday the Rays were actually ahead of the Yankees in the AL East. Now all they have to do is deal with those pesky young Blue Jays. You might not recognize the names but this team is solid in all areas.
Brandon Lowe is still one of the least likely sluggers in the league. He is leading the Rays in all triple crown categories but the Rays actually have some pop all throughout the lineup. They do not run as much as they used to though.
A couple of years ago Blake Snell was one of the best pitchers in baseball. He can still dazzle that way from time to time but sometimes he relies too much on this raw stuff and gets taken out of the yard. He has yet to pitch six innings in a game though so he needs help.
