Toronto Blue Jays
After a couple of promising games against the Yankees the Blue Jays were hit hard by Arizona over the weekend. Baltimore should be a place to have some success for most teams but the Jays are struggling more than expected, especially at the plate. Until they can get some more regular offense it is going to be really tough for this team. The young guys do not look bad just inconsistent.

Trent Thornton is another one of the Jays young players looking to get more consistent in the bigs. At his best his curve ball can be a big time weapon but at times he loses the plate. One good thing is that he does not often groove pitches to get it back. The Jays bullpen has been solid in high leverage situations this season but they have not had enough of them.
Baltimore Orioles
Baltimore is terrible but in terms of record they are only a few games worse than Toronto. That’s somewhat of a surprise. They are about the same as Toronto when it comes to scoring but with a much lower ceiling than the Jays with their lineup. They are worse on the mound though, dead last in the Majors in ERA. This will be an interesting series of who is actually worse.

Rookie John Means has been the best pitcher for Baltimore this season. He started the year in the bullpen but has proven to be as reliable as any arm they have. Toronto has not seen him this season so there could be an advantage there and he has a dynamite ERA at home, under 2. If you were going to back the Orioles at all in this series this looks like the spot.
