Texas Rangers
The Rangers traded Mike Minor, who has been awful this season, but held onto Lynn. I am not sure what that says about what they think their chances are this year.
I guess they couldn’t find the right deal for their ace. Lynn has been really good this year though all of the stat geeks say he is due for some regression. The team is 5-3 in his starts.
That record might have been better if the Rangers were not last in the league in scoring. They are not even averaging 4 runs per game this season.
This far into the season it is hard to see too much changing moving forward.
Houston Astros
Houston is still trying to chase down the A’s but they are out of the doldrums for sure. Now they just have to get healthy for a strong final push.
The lineup is missing Alex Bregman but can still be pretty deadly. It would have been nice to have Yordan Alvarez too but there is still plenty of pop.
Until Justin Verlander is back they need Zach Greinke to pitch like an ace. He has not faced Texas this year. His splits are about the same home and away.
