Texas does not want to play second fiddle to Houston but there is no doubt that is where this club is right now…and will be for a long time. The only saving grace for a game like this at this stage of the season is that for some reason the Rangers have been better on the road than at home this year.

This was going to be a start for Cole Hamels but he was dealt to the Cubs on Thursday. Not sure who the replacement is going to be but the Rangers are going to be big underdogs on the road, at Houston, against one of the best starters in the league.
Houston Astros
The Astros will be looking to collect some easy wins over the weekend with their in-state rivals in town. I am not sure there is truly a rivalry given the state of both clubs since Houston joined the AL and the same division as the Rangers. Certainly not much now with Houston way ahead.

Justin Verlander had a couple of bad outings over the last month but seems to have regained his edge. His last outing was six shutout innings against the Angels with 11 strikeouts.
