Texas Rangers
The Rangers came into Houston at .500 but have lost the first two games after scoring just two runs combined. Justin Verlander threw seven innings of one-hit ball on Friday to pick up his sixth win of the year. Roberto Osuna converted his tenth save.
Lance Lynn threw well in defeat for Texas and helped us cash our under with ease. He matched Verlander with seven innings and eight punch-outs but three of his six hits left the yard (all of the solo variety).

Adrian Sampson took the community college route out in Washington state and became a fifth round pick of the Pirates in 2012. His last two appearances have come against the Bucs and he had the ERA under four after pitching into the sixth inning in the latter appearance.
It jumped back over after he gave up seven hits and five runs in five frames on Tuesday. He started against the Astros on April 20 and got one out in the fifth innings, gave up seven hits, but just two runs in a no-decision.
Houston Astros
So after a brilliant start from Brad Peacock on Wednesday, six smooth innings from Wade Miley on Thursday, and Verlander’s performance on Friday, Houston sends Gerrit Cole to the hill on Saturday.
Collin McHugh rounds out the five-man and should get the ball Sunday. He got off to a fast start through four starts but he’s struggled in his four since then.

He’s logged exactly eighteen innings in his last four starts, given up twenty-four hits, seven walks, and twenty-five runs. Two of the starts were especially bad, including the most recent against Kansas City: eight runs allowed in three innings.
