Texas Rangers
Texas defeated Seattle on Wednesday to win the series. It will now have its first day without a game in 10 days before beginning this series on Friday in Colorado.
Lance Lynn has picked up right where he left off after his terrific 2019, which was his first as a Ranger.
He’s 2–0 in four starts and should be even better than that. He’s given up a total of just three earned runs and gone at least six innings three times.
Joey Gallo is hitting under .220 but with an OPS+ just under 150 because of the power (four home runs) and his improving plate discipline.
He has 10 walks to 20 strikeouts on the season, which would be the best ratio yet of his career, if he can maintain it.
Colorado Rockies
The first-place Rockies lost their finale in Arizona on Wednesday, 13–7.
Nolan Arenado had a big game and it was tied after six innings but the Rockies’ bullpen imploded in an 8-run seventh for Arizona. Colorado has lost three out of four now.
It also has Thursday off before beginning this series. Ryan Castellani will get the baseball in the first game.
He made his Major League debut last week with four no-hit innings in Seattle. He struck out three and walked just one, throwing 60 pitches.
