Tampa beat Kansas City on Monday in Ji-Man Choi’s return from a calf strain that sidelined him in Boston. He was on base three times out of five, drove in two runs, and scored another.
He’s always been a hitter but sometimes hitters don’t reveal themselves unless they get enough time to fail. He never had that opportunity with the Angels, Yankees, or Brewers.
The Rays presented him with the first opportunity in his big league career to be an everyday player and he’s rewarded them with tremendous offensive production in the sixty-nine games he’s played for the club.
Kansas City Royals

He felt stiffness in his shoulder during Spring Training and only came back to debut last week against the Angels. He went five innings and gave up five hits and three runs. He only struck out one, though, and I’m afraid the worst has yet to come for the 30-year-old lefty.
