Tampa Bay shutout San Francisco in the rubber match of their three-game weekend series. Yonny Chirinos did a lot of opening and piggy-backing last season. He simply started and went the first five innings on Sunday, two hits and a walk in five clean innings.
Kevin Cash got creative with left-hander Adam Kolarek, who came in immediately after Chirinos. Kolarek faced the lefties and played first base when the righties came up, handing the ball to Chaz Roe, who struck out the only batter he faced. Kolarek then came back to get the lefties.

Yandy Diaz kept producing from the leadoff spot. He has an OPS over 1.000 so far this season and looks like a force, which has allowed Kevin Kiermaier to slide down the the seventh spot. That will make Kiermaier more aggressive on the bases and, ultimately, give Diaz more RBI opportunities at the top.
Chicago White Sox
The White Sox could have played Seattle at a different, better time. The Mariners kept on rolling by winning both games on the weekend, including the rubber match, 12–5 on Sunday.
Edwin Encarnacion had three hits and four RBIs in the win and the White Sox got four hits from Tim Anderson in the leadoff spot but no more than one from anybody else.

Carlos Rodon has won one and lost one in two starts this season but his numbers are terrific, on the whole. He’s given up just five hits and two walks in over 11 innings of work, while striking out 15.
