St. Louis Cardinals
The Cardinals are a game under .500 heading into Monday’s action after getting swept on the road against the Cubs. Miami is generally a place to get well again but the Cards need to find some more offense. Only twice in their last 8 games have they scored more than three runs. Marcell Ozuna has been great but they were expecting a lot more from everybody else.

Dakota Hudson is an interesting case of success. For starters the team has won his last four starts but his ERA is almost a run and a half below his xFIP. He walks a ton of guys and gives up too many hits so he is getting some luck that could easily run out. He does not strike out very many either. Fading him against the Marlins is kind of interesting.
Miami Marlins
Miami also had a tough weekend, getting swept by Atlanta, but at least they put some runs on the board on Sunday. They are the lowest scoring team in the league and that always makes it tough to back them comfortably. They are last in homers too so it is not like you can say maybe they will yank a couple of out of the yard. They could punish Hudson if he is wild though.

The reason the starting pitcher has not been named is that this is the spot formerly held by Caleb Smith, who had been the Marlins best pitcher for most of the season. It is a real guess to know which way they go as they have only used five starters this season. Wei-Yin Chen has starting experience but he has been dreadful in the bullpen this season.
