The Mariners will stay on the road, as they take on the White Sox on Tuesday, April 12th.
Matt Brash will be going up against Vince Velasquez in this one.
The total in this game started off at 10 and I now see it listed at 9.5.
Seattle Mariners
Some other teams in their division might be getting more attention than them, but I feel there is reason to be optimistic about this Mariners team.
They may not quite have as much talent as the Astros do, but I do feel they could compete for the American League West which is not quite as strong as it has been in past years.
They just completed the last of a four-game set against the Minnesota Twins on Monday and lost by a score of 4-0.
I would say that the results for them in the Minnesota series were mixed, as there were some good things I saw, but also some areas in which they could be better.
When they are on their game, this offense is very capable of putting up good numbers, but that was not the case in their last outing as they got blanked by Dylan Bundy, who is really not great. That could not have made this club happy.
In their last loss, Chris Flexen went 4.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. The righty gave his team a chance to win, but as you can see, he got no run support.
On the mound for the opener in Chicago will be Matt Brash. I am interested to see how he does because I really have not heard a whole lot about this kid.
Brash will certainly have his hands full when he tries to navigate through this tough lineup in the White Sox. If he makes any mistake pitches he knows what that offense will do with them.
Chicago White Sox
The White Sox started off the year how they would have liked and they will look to keep that up during this Seattle series.
Over the weekend, they took two games out of three from the Detroit Tigers on the road. After dropping the first game, they did a good job of bouncing back and winning the series.
I know the season is still very young, but it does not surprise me at all that a lot of people were high on this team heading into the season. They certainly have the capability to do a lot of damage.
They have a very solid mixture of hitting and pitching to go along with a great manager. Now, we have to see them put it together in the playoffs.
In the last game of the series on Sunday, Chicago won by a score of 10-1. The offense did a good job against Tarik Skubal and continued to be productive against the Detroit bullpen.
Michal Kopech got the start on Sunday and went 4 innings and allowed 1 earned run. He was a guy who was effective in the bullpen and he now will look to keep that up as he is in the starting rotation.
Vince Velasquez will look to start off his White Sox career strongly, but I have some questions about him. There is no question that Chicago took a chance on him and we will see if he is more productive than he was with his previous teams.
There is no question that he has the stuff, but he cannot keep making a bunch of mistake pitches and get hit hard if he wishes to stay in the rotation.
MLB Baseball Betting Trends:

Seattle Mariners vs. Chicago White Sox MLB Prediction:
Boy, this is not exactly the flashiest pitching matchup you could get. I think both offenses are chomping at the bit here.
I am not really expecting great performances by either pitcher, which I feel will lead to a good amount of runs being scored.
I am not saying it will be a total slugfest, but I also do not see it being a 3-2 game either.
Give me the over of 9.5 here.
