The Giants will be in Milwaukee to take on the Brewers for just one game and then they are out of there.
Sam Long and Corbin Burnes are the slated pitchers in this contest.
Right now, Milwaukee is a heavy favorite, and the total is sitting low at 7.
San Francisco Giants
Based on the way the Giants have played so far, it seems like they are on a mission to show people that last year was no fluke thing. They are a legit team and can have success in a loaded division and league.
I know there is a long way to go but they could not have asked for a better start to this season. It is hard to complain about a record of 11-5.
They come into this game positioned in 2nd place in the NL West. The Dodgers lead them by 0.5 a game with a record of 11-4.
Some people were certainly surprised with their success a year ago and once again surprised about their start this season but really they should not be. When you look at their team it makes sense they are having success.
San Francisco is a club that has a good manager, strong pitching, and a balanced lineup. When you mix those things together, good results often happen.
The Giants did exactly what they had to do against the Nationals over the weekend and swept them in a three-game set. They outscored them by a 24-6 margin in the series.
The offense really exploded for them in the finale of the series on Sunday as they put 12 runs on the board. Logan Webb also delivered a strong start for them as he went 6.2 innings and struck out 6 batters.
Sam Long will look to keep his team rolling when they head into Milwaukee. Being matched up with Corbin Burnes is never an easy task so we shall see what happens there.
Milwaukee Brewers
Similar to their opponent, the Brewers have also started off the year well. I would not be surprised if they kept that up throughout the rest of the season.
This is a team that came into the 2022 season with a lot of expectations and rightfully so. They are talented enough to win their division and then make some noise in the playoffs.
A knock on this team for a while now is they get to a certain point in the postseason but are not able to get over the hump. I am not sold it will be any different for them this year.
Given how good the NL is, I would not put this group on the same level as a team like the Mets or Dodgers. Even a fully healthy Braves team is better than these guys in my opinion.
We will get an indication of what this team really is when they start facing the top teams in their league. If they have some success then there might be some hope but if they falter then that might be what you see come playoff time as well.
After losing the first game of the series on Friday, Milwaukee came back and took the next two games to win the series over the Phillies. Although their opponent has not played well this season, those are two good wins for them.
The Brew Crew won a narrow 1-0 game on Sunday night baseball to cap off the series. There was a call by an umpire that made some Philly fans upset but we know there was more to the game than that.
Eric Lauer went toe to toe with Aaron Nola on Sunday and spun an absolute gem. The lefty went 6 innings, sprayed around 5 hits, allowed 0 earned runs, and fanned 13 batters. That is some pretty impressive stuff, man.
MLB Baseball Betting Trends:
- The Giants are 4-0 in their last 4 games against the NL Central.
- The Giants are 12-4 in their last 16 Sunday games.
- The Brewers are 4-0 in their last 4 games as the favorite.
- The Brewers are 6-1 in their last 7 games overall.
San Francisco Giants vs. Milwaukee Brewers MLB Prediction:
This is a matchup between two talented teams. Too bad it is just for one game.
There is no question the Brewers have the starting pitcher advantage but Long is no slouch. I look for him to be solid and keep his team in this one.
I can see Milwaukee winning a close one but SF keeping it within that margin.
My play is the Giants on the run line.
